Hi everyone, I have a dweb and Trang set(shield, waist and gloves).
Do the poison debuffs stack?
Or should I switch the trang shield, to a homoculus?
Yes they stack.
But the extra skills from homu roughly balance out so you arenât getting an obvious difference one way or the other. The Trang set gives you the fire skills, but homu is better for blocking and resists.
At least with the gloves and belt you get fireball!
Yes. You should also aim to get as many facets as you can, a 2 socket rare circlet is the best but ridiculously hard to find. 3 piece tranghoul is the best of the game, even compared with Homu + arach belt combo.
For immunes â- % ennemy poison resâ only calculates after the immunity is broken with lower resist. Your lower resist is 1/5 effect on immunes.
As a matter of fact for pure dmg, a fully psn facet socketed armor is better than 50% extra psn dmg off a perfect Bramble, but lacks the other mods.
Giving you an even more complicated answer.
Lowering resists can have a cap. You canât go lower than -100 (you see a similar wall with cold mastery), thus if you stack LR (-55), Deathâs Web (-50) and 3 piece of trang (-25), you do hit a wall on many enemies. (total being -130) Anything that was 0 poison resists in the first place got no benefit from the trang parts or any facets you added. Anything that was 30 resistant was lowered to -100.
Now if you are dealing with Poison immune enemies and you LR them to break the immunity, then the -resists from your gear can then lower the resists even further. This is where your Trangs gear can really shine, on the poison immune guys.
Items like Bramble increase your damage instead of lowering the resists. This still works even if you cap out on the lower resistsâŚThe two mechanics work nicely together as bramble just upps your damage while Lower Resist items kills off their resistance and makes the damage more happy!
At some point though you will get a similar result from more damage as you will from lower resists. If the targets damage is already at -100 due to LR and Deathâs Web, then the additional skills from items like Homu or Bramble is a better options. When dealing with high resistant monsters Trangs helps out the most.
Just a reminder Conviction doesnât affect poison damage so donât get the big stick for your merc.
On a side note, does it seem like poison is getting a âbuffâ from the frame rate increase just like fire wall? Iâm mixed on this. Iâve seen a high level P-mancer take out cows with 1 LR + novaâŚthatâs possible at a high level of gear, but it seems poison nova is having an easier time of it than I remember.
I donât think Nova is affected because itâs not the same kind of tick since its always over a flat 2 seconds. At least I didnât notice a difference vs my LoD novamancer.
Iâve been telling everyone, poison necro you really JUST need the 3 piece trang and even without it you can clear hell. I rolled a psn necro right off the bat at lvl 34 when d2r launched and it was a breeze, same as before
i dont think Dwebâs minus psn resist stacks with lower resist does it?
lower resist to break poison immunesâŚ
and then Dwebâs and Trangs minus poison resist comes into play. right?
If they are not poison immune it stacks, when you have an immune, LR needs to break the immunity first.
