I’ve always hated the fact that you can go straight to almost any boss and kill them, get decent drop rates and repeat…
Except with Duriel.
Duriel is a lvl 88 monster, meaning that she can drop every item in the game, in theory. Duriel’s drops are particularly bad because she has two TC
TC 1: Drops a TP scroll (in a 8 players game she can drop 6 scrolls, hurray!)
TC 2: Tries to drop 7 items
If you get TC 1, congratulations you’ve searched for Duriel for a lot longer than you would’ve liked and you got a scroll for your efforts.
If you get TC 2, cross your fingers that some of those 7 attempts don’t result in a “No drop”.
Did it three times and got scrolls every time? Well, that’s too bad.
Such a waste.
you would have to first in the right grave …and that is not small and then still find the entrance.
and since it is so narrow with duriel and he …quite good strikes I rather believe that of all people someone WANTED to farm Duriel
I’m always happy when I’ve made it and never have to see Duriel again
I like farming Duriel as I also like killing stuff in the tombs, the monster density is quite high and there are often ghosts as well, making it great for rune farming (relatively). The enemies inside also go down easy, by and large. Duriel has also dropped me a Shako most recently, as well as I think he might have a higher chance at dropping rainbow facets (got a few off him so far). I understand he is not the best or most desirable farm, and he can be disappointing and underwhelming, but variety is the spice of life, eh?
First off, the TP scroll drop from Duriel is specifically because there is no way out of his chamber other than a TP scroll or exiting the game. They didn’t want a player who had already cleared the Duriel quest to be stuck in Tal Rasha’s tomb and be forced to log out with no other option of escape. I used to wonder why Duriel dropped 5 TP scrolls for me (I’ve seen this ~4 times since D2R launched).
Second, Duriel has been the SINGLE best source of items for me, from ANY individual boss. I’ve gotten more GG items from quest bugged Duriel than bugged Andy, or Meph/Diablo/Baal, and I farm them roughly equally (I do Diablo and Baal less than the first 3). Did you know quest Duriel is the SINGLE highest drop rate for a Ber rune in the game? Same thing for Rainbow Facets and Arachnid Mesh, along with a few other items.
Thirdly, farming Duriel is very fast if you farm the Summoner first. Summoner + Duriel is one run, and the only other way to farm Duriel would be “Tomb runs” (obviously way less efficient because you can’t pinpoint the correct tomb without visiting Summoner).
If you can get a friend to help you quest bug Duriel (as I did on my MF’ing sorceress), I assure you that Summoner + Duriel is by FAR one of the most lucrative magic finding routes in the game
Yes. Duriel needs a fix.
So bad drops for a harder monster then Andy.
And hero spawn in that hole shouldn’t be in his sight.
He walks towards you whilst you see loading screen.
Don’t you agree !?
