“Changed how attack speed is determined while dual-wielding weapons. Swapping weapons between hands should no longer result in dramatically different attack speeds.”
This needs to be further explained. You need to show the calculation, and compare it to the old. This vaguery is pretty lacluster.
I’m still waiting for the “temporary” fixes to the 90 second game throttling to actually be fixed and no longer temporary. Did they mention anything about it, or…???
So you use to be able to pick which weapon you wanted in your main hand, and the IAS modifier would be based off of that weapon.
However in introducing D2R they broke the ability to choose which hand to put each weapon in, and they can’t figure out how to fix it so instead they’re just going to average the attack speed of both weapons.
Do you even know how it used to work?
Do you know what a pain it is to get the definitive formula simiply by playtest?
Was fixed at launch. Ebugging no longer exists.
Which do you want?
This is NOT how it worked.
You wanted you faster weapon in the OFFhand, not main.
Also, if you weapon swapped for prebuffs, then this benefit was nullified.
Yet, still was not included in any release notes. It isn’t just WSG. There are many hidden changes/bug fixes that have not been included in release notes.
It matters. We had 20+ years to dissect the data in this game. All that data is readily available all over the internet and all theory crafting is based on that data. Any changes Blizzard makes to that data should be transparent with the community.
Basically what i get out of it is, lets say you are a frenzy barb it should no longer drastically decrease your Attack per second if you swap your sword form left hand to right or vise versa. Before dual wielding the IAS would be based on your MAIN HAND WEAPON ONLY
For one, They are not telling us HOW they are calculating things at all.
We have to assume that it is a simple average, that no longer relies on off-hand shenanigans.
This actually seriously hurts asssassins who can hit 2 frame attacks using BLUE magic items.
They say they want simplification and diversity in the same breath. You cannot have both.
They are simplifying things literally out of existance, likely with zero knowledge they are even doing so.
This makes the 2nd batch of BLUE items that are to be now dumpster tier (the first being the nerfing of Tomb Vipers into little cute garden snakes that now have zero chance of killing a fruitfly). I guess their ‘diversity’ is only limited to skill choice, and not item choice, or whether you take advantage of well established mechanics of the game.
If they are changing something this drastic, the change in the formula should be given.
And are you saying the other huge laundry list of specific changes they made required testing of every scenario like this does? Why do you even bother saying stupid stuff like this. It is a waste of both of our time.
And when was the last time you directly calculated your fpa from scratch? Not just oh, that is faster. That is slower, etc, but calculate it directly.
Being able to do this would save a huge amount of testing. But no, you just seem to feel the need to spout more stuff.
Neither of us said it in totality, correctly.
To get the fastest attack speeds, you wanted the fastest weapon in the offhand, equipped first.
If you weapon switched to prebuff, it would use the main hand as default.
That’s about as clean as I can make it for those that aren’t fully aware of what they are changing.
It hurts barbs a little, it hurts sins a lot more.
The fact is blizzard NEVER give out ANY kind of formula for this game to begin with, so why would they give you a new formula if changes happened?
We are able to grab a attack speed calculator online nowadays because old players go figure the formula out in the first place, not because blizzard announced and published the formulas to the public.
So ya. If they ever change the formula, we the normal players could only tell by faster/slower, for the most accurate information we will need players to set things up and test it out themselves unfortunately.
Simply stating the fact here, it isn’t about me needing to spout things out, but to give you a hammer of reality.
So in totality, your response is ‘we don’t care to know, cuz it’s been that way’
Funny how you totally avoided the question of when you last calculated your fpa. Some of us can ya know, without a calculator…gasp we actually DO know the formulas.
And nevermind how much time it would save to just give the new one…sorry more useless jabbering
All I am saying is it’s impossible and unrealistic to request such because they never do, and never will release the formula. I’ve even clearly state that it is up to us, the players to figure out, and share the formula.
And somehow you manage to change the statement into “we do not care to know” is super funny and insulting.
If you do understand the formula and that good with it, you should be able to figure out the new formula instead of requesting for one, since you are that good already right?
Do you even get how they were ascertained…like at all?
again plz. just qft.
Am done even bothering at all with you since all you are doing is being purposefully counterproductive.
