Am I the only one not getting any drops worth mentioning when playing on Nightmare? I’m playing offline on PS5, lvl 46 paladin, I’m just about to go down to fight Andurial. Currently I’m wearing equipment giving me +58% magic item find. And to this point I can count on one hand, with fingers left over, the number of exceptional quality equipment that wasn’t cracked, low quality, etc dropped from enemies. I haven’t found one piece of magical exceptional equipment, only socketed.
Even trying to buy equipment I can’t find anything. I’ve seen maybe 20 pieces of exceptional equipment, but nothing that was better than any of my equipment that I’ve had, the majority of which I’ve had since before I defeated Diablo on normal.
When I’ve gambled, I haven’t found one single piece of exceptional equipment.
Just random being random. And exceptional items are harder to find than normal ones. And elite even more rare.
And if you are looking for white items with or without sockets the more MF you have the harder they are to find.
Nightmare does not have good drop rates for almost anything useful. Just keep an eye out for things that help your resists mainly. And also +58% MF is like… nothing.
It’s much more than you think. MF has very high diminsihing returns.
Those 58 MF are worth the same as the next ~140 into MF.
I’d love to keep an eye out for things that increase my resists. But seriously I’ve had all my MF, whether it’s nothing or not, since right before I went to hell on normal. So I’ve gone all the way through hell with plenty of elite enemies, defeated Diablo, gone all the way through Mt. Areat again with plenty of elites, defeated Baal, restarted in nightmare, defeated all the rather increased number of elite enemies, defeated the baroness, and am literally on the doorstep of Andariel, and still basically nothing more than magic items increasing a sole stat +1, or life +5.
I don’t buy that the random number generator has just been wonky for a week+ in a row. It honestly feels like the drop rate has seriously decreased since the last patch. I appreciate not getting BSOD’d in offline play, and not losing my stash, but it’s getting increasingly difficult to fight even a small elite pack, let alone one of the LOH.
Agree it does seem that they have modified the drop rates on console period. Or they are now reducing drops once you defeat a higher difficulty. As my experience changed once beating baal in hell
Nothing has been adjusted, humans are just incapable of discerning random.
