Don't worry about PVP balance

Yeah I play lots of games dude.
But I want D2 to stay good.
Find a new argument or gtfo with all of that.
I have a right to be concerned about these changes they are making that is ruining the game’s pvp dynamic, and so does anyone else who cares.
If you don’t like it, accept that it’s happening and find something else to do. Nothing we are suggesting effects you and your pvm experience. You’re just arguing to argue so you can argue about arguing so you can argue some more, because you hate pvp.
Is this even a good reason to argue? I mean at this point your only real argument looks like you’re trying to convince me that “I shouldn’t care about pvp and no one else should either” which is just ridiculous and it isn’t going to go anywhere, quite clearly.

I don’t need to defend my argument. Blizzard is already doing what I’m saying.

  1. They are focusing D2:R in PvE
  2. They have a separate game for isometric PvP, it even has most diablo characters…

You need a new argument.

You’re not even arguing or discussing anything though. You’re just going into pvp related threads and telling people that they shouldn’t care about pvp.
Find something else to do.
The pvp community is going to continue making suggestions. Get used to it.

No. My first post was literally a response directly to OP, explaining WHY it doesn’t work the way they think it does.

It’s not my fault that you don’t know how to read, or that you are in denial about facts.

Along with a janky remark to supplement Mith.
Reread your own post mate, and find something else to do.
PvP players will continue to fight for PvP. Get used to it.

that’s fine. PvE (or PvM) players will continue to fight for PvE.

Get used to it.

And go find something better to do, like therapy. You sound like you need it.

Kind of off topic, but does no one find the humor in "go play " as the number one comment regardless of the topic?

You. You are crying out for them to listen. Not even your j2w crowd agrees with you.

You’re not doing that though by hounding pvp suggestions.
The pvp suggestions don’t effect your Mephisto farming.
You have nothing pvm related to defend, by continuously hounding pvp suggestions.

Say something coherent if you want to argue.

what PvP suggestion am I hounding?

You are making stuff up now.

again, that “simple flag” doesn’t exist. They’d have to completely restructure the skill.txt and missile.txt files.

It doesn’t work the way you think it does.

(and the reason that flag doesn’t exist is because PvP is an afterthought; it is a pretty basic thing to have in most games with both PvP and PvE)

Why can’t we just have it all? I want D2R to be an amazing game for PvM, PvP, and speedrunners too. And hopefully they can add some fresh content and changes in a way that betters the experience for everyone.

This whole “PvM” vs “PvP” mentality is just detrimental. People find their own enjoyment in this game and that should be encouraged.

sadly, due to the way the game was made, improving one side tends to be detrimental to the other.

Balancing skills for PVM led to massive issues in PvP back in the day. In the later patches of LoD, trying to balance things for PvP is what lead to the current massive unbalance in PvM, where archery, martial arts, and most summons are just garbage, etc.

If it could be done separately, it would be ideal, but it can’t… so Blizz should prioritize the side of the game with the most players: PvM.

I only know about the 1/6 damage scaling, and some effects not affecting players. Like you can’t freeze a player or make them lose control of their character. But some of that seems universal and not specifically about PvP, like monsters can’t freeze the player either, etc. It does look like there are at least a couple skills where they put in some special PvP scaling (I was having trouble finding a list), but it seems uncommon. At least they have the option.

Martial arts were junk in PvP on legacy too and people don’t even use summons other than clay golem and grizzly/spirit wolf as meat shields… Do you have a source for this claim that LoD patches were based on attempts to balance PvP? Never heard anyone say this before.

that teleport kick would instagib people, but the problem wasn’t the martial art skills themselves, it’s everything else the assassin has, like fade and cloak of shadows.

Read the patch notes. There were comments on them made by developers explaing why they’d nerf each thing, like Guided* arrow.

Did you have a look at the code or you are assuming it doesn’t exist?

Just went through patch notes for 1.08, 1.09, 1.10, 1.10, 1.11, 1.12, 1.13, and 1.13c

The only mention of PvP I could find was for addition of ‘PvP’ penalties for some skills, meaning they left characteristics for PvM alone. Lots of changes were made obviously, but if you can provide some specific examples that were nerfed in general for the purpose of PvP that would be helpful to see.
