Do at least 1 thing

Do at least 1 thing to improve d2r every new ladder season. It doesn’t even have to be hard or take much of your time. Simply by putting Cain back to where he belongs next to the way point in act 5 would make everyone happy. Maybe sin could only have 1 mosaic equipped at a time. Maybe items could sell for up to 40k in hell instead of 35k. Get us excited about what’s to come every new ladder season again. It’s not asking too much.

Blizzard:
Nope, too hard. 25 year old 32 bit code, fragmented source code and all… It’d be like deciphering Egyptian hieroglyphs. We’d have to hire a full cryptographic team to crack the code to find the X/Y spawn/loiter position on the map for Cain in Act 5… Then a full fledged development team to actually change it, then at least 2 years of in-house behind closed doors testing to make sure that it works on every map seed tested.

It’d cost at least a few million dollars to do for a game that makes us no money. So nope, can’t do it. Never.

Maybe they could just ask one of the bot programmers to do it  i bet they can do it in a heartbeat. But yeah, just kidding, we all know it will never happen

Create cube recipes to downgrade rare items.

Create cube recipes to break runes down.

Take away and/or replace indestructible affix from Unique Weapons so they can spawn ethereal. Or just allow all indestructible uniques a chance to roll ethereal.

Rune / Gem stacking.

More stash tabs.

Add button to re-randomize NPC shop items the same way you can for gambling. *As cool as this sounds I think it’d be hard to do considering all players get the same shop window.

Allow set items to roll ethereal.

Add custom channels in chat lobby so clans can be their own channel moderators like they were in LOD.

Anyone else have the feeling they will release a D2R expansion or D1 remake?

I don’t see how they just announce D5 after the complete failure (status wise) that D4 was. It was meme’d on ruthlessly for the past few years.

Nope, because that would mean them committing to supporting this game for another few years. I doubt that many players would pay what Blizzard would ask for it for it to be worthwhile to them. I have the distinct feeling that Diablo 2 is a thorn in Blizzards side because it’s not a permanent income stream and of course all of the cheating.

Adjusted for inflation, $35 back in 2001 for the LoD expansion would be $63.43 today.

This is certainly a possibility. They’ve been on a roll remastering their old popular titles, and I believe the original Diablo is the only one left. If it does happen, I’m betting it being on the 30 year anniversary, which is December 31, 2026.

If they do make a Diablo 5, we won’t hear any news about that for another ~8 years, as since Diablo 2, they’ve have a track record of releasing the next Diablo iteration roughly every 12 years.

“List several things”

Give em a finger and they rip off your arm.

With the release of D3 I was hoping to get a game that actually was D2, but more and better. Instead they made some MMO-like simplified dumbkidsgame. In D4 they have decided a shared world and many non random generated areas would be a good idea.

I really hope they will never make an “expansion” for D2. How would it be realistic to get a good game ? No, they would bury D2 and with it the franchise, because D2 is the legendary game they have that allows them to make Diablo 27 one day no matter how bad it will be.

And so D2R (if they don´t ruin it) is the basis of any new Diablo XY hype (maybe until customers are finally fed up or they actually make a good game again somehow - I am playing LOD since release, so I am not young any more, I probably will not get to see it).

I think it is extremely valuable for Blizzard, if they don´t actively destroy it.
