Make D2 Harder Please
Way to adjust difficulty would be nice
Yeah, bring on the 4th difficulty. The return of Inferno! Lets gooooooooooooooooo!!!
But, we both know that is unlikely to happen. They can’t even move Cain next to the stash in Act 5… In fact, the way things have been going, the game is looking to only get easier. cough Mosaic cough
So, in the mean time, you can simulate higher difficulty by dropping some of that OP gear. Just saying…
100%.
Not only the gear, but the character class, and Merc.
There is plenty of difficulty in the game if people really want it… but… they play OP builds with OP gear and OP merc’s, then want the game to be harder.
Meanwhile, folks that actually play builds that struggle, with crappy gear (self-found) and, oh… an Act 1 Merc, already know there is challenge if you want it.
Choices.
Want a challenge? Play a Fanata/Zealot Pally from start to end, with the Act 1 Merc (girl you brought to the party), with solo-self-found gear… no, not a Holy Fire, then FoH/Hammer, then… Zealot… after you have assembled/twinked everything you need… play a melee Pally from day 1… with an Act 1 Merc… and do not respec…
Again… choices.
+1…adding extra difficulty would only widen gap of S+/S tier end game builds (aka all sorc builds, hammerdin, foh, javazon, ma sin, horker) to the remaining builds… I would imagine most players will want to farm on this supposed extra difficulty which I would assume have even better drops so all non meta build even those that remotely struggle currently will all see much less action… hardcore, non-exp, different class/build are the ways to go…otherwise is the point of d2r for you just to wreck havoc on monsters…? If so what would extra difficulty really do lol
Hmm, well it would give a very clear incentive to try and bring non-meta builds/skills up to spec, and possibly bring a few others down a notch. That of course assumes there would then be any more real development effort towards that goal.
No nerfs are needed, there are too many things to consider in particular for solo players… some end game builds just need to be adjusted to be closer in strength to the meta, no need to surpass. Blizz has been trying, rather miserably, over the last 2 years or so…while mosaic is hated, I don’t mind it and it made MA sins actually worth playing.
Yeah I personally think a few things could be tweaked downward a bit, but I’m not really fixated on it, that’s why I said possibly. I’m mainly interested in trying to bring things up. A higher difficulty level would really highlight the underperformers because right now, even the weaker builds/skills can still basically function while the S-tier are full-on mowing the lawn. If the weaker stuff just wasn’t even functional anymore, it would demand improvement.
Mosiac is a touchy subject, but you’re right, it’s nice that MA isn’t so crummy anymore, even if it was done… oddly.
This I agree with
Can you elaborate on this? Where is this difficulty?
