Did you read what i said? ENDGAME IS STILL BAD. Outside Ravens, other summons do 0 dmg. They didnt really nerf endgame raven dmg anyhow.
Despite some little improvments summons are still too weak compared to the necromancer ones. It’s the hard truth at the moment.
Possible solutions include allow summon bear and wolves together, give bear crushing blow or some sort of AOE attack, increase bear attack speed and wolves damage, improve survivability and bonus granted by all the spirits (for example add attack speed bonus to heart of wolverine).
The lack of AOE problem is probably the biggest problem and maybe can be fixed allowing hybrid fire skills and summoning skills build, adjusting synergy and free some skills points.
I like the theme of big brute grizzly smacking your face for some Crushing blow. The thing is he is still attacking slowly, so it won’t apply as much as it seems.
But does new summon druid suffer with bosses? I think those Ravens deals insane damage for single targets. And cant die, you can just spawn them and run around boss for them to kill.
Probably better to focus on making Summon druid clear big areas of monsters faster. I think wolves and bear attack so slowly… Summoning all wolves bear would better AoE
Oh no Ravens are much better now. Leveling sucked whit summon Druid, now Ravens help alot, but endgame is still meh. Though Ravens can carry the whole circus, which is a bit sad. I think about 2 things to change Druid viability, and both have to be done. 1. Bigger Wolf packs. Let us summon more wolves per pack, maybe 10-12.
2. Let ONE kind of Wolf pack be available WHIT Grizzly +Ravens+ a spirit+ a vine. So Spirit Wolves can be trash killers, Dire Wolves can be Boss killers and Grizzly Will tank.
Bonus change: let us swap between the 2 Wolf packs, by summoning the whole pack, whit one cast.
Let’s be real If Raven is still just do 5 hits and disappear, you will have to recast it with high +skill gears now you have free hand to hold beast or other stuff to do some more which will net more than 3% that was missed from damage reduced and don’t forget that resummoned stuff won’t attack immediately after summoned so that gap loss more than 3% on skill sheet.
It make no sense, to me, that a level 1 skill (ravens) deal more damage than a pack of wolves or a grizzly bear. As mentioned before and by many other player, they have to work on other summons, not ravens
I’m going to go against the grain here, but I think the new raven update is really good, while summon druid can in no way compete with the strongest meta builds out there, it’s very fun and you have a lot of options. You can’t really look at the DPS of one skill and say “this sucks” you gotta try out a few things and get a feel for the play style. ravens have basically turned into something like a very strong random damage aura that requires very little upkeep, even if you only place 50 points in the summon tree, you end up with a decently strong passive damage attack and a meat-shield, freeing you to spend some points in the Shape Shift tree or Elemental tree. I haven’t tested out all the builds I can think of yet, but there are definitely some interesting options available for druid now. You might not be viable in p8, but for solo play it’s very effective. I do however hope they make some more changes, make the bear cleave or give the wolves critical strike, something would help, that being said, I think the shape shifting tree should get some attention first.
Just some crazy ideas that won’t ever be used.
Let the bear carry rabies aura which spread on nearby enemies!
Let dire wolves use fury to attack faster!
Joke’s on you. Beast Fant aura has no effect on ravens
I know and that’s fine it can buff other summons and druid do some shockwaves.
After dumping 80 points for ravens, I am sure your single hard point Shockwave will do some real damage.
shockwave to stun enemies not to damage stuff?
Spirit wolves don’t benefit from Fant. That leaves Dire wolves or the grizzly.
You are weapon swapping to cast ravens to get a marginal improvement on you 1 or 3 summons thinking it will offset the nerfed DPS… As if your efforts can even remotely compare to a wind druid using a 1 point grizzly as a meat shield.
I guess to each their own…
I think its too synergy heavy. But how about sacrificing some of Raven/summons dmg and get extra “green flavour”.
20 Raven 20 Spirit wolf, 1 bear, 20 Poison creeper, 20 Rabies, 1 werewolf.
So you deal physical + cold + poison damages. And while waiting for Ravens and summons to clear area, help them with Rabies. Its possible now that you dont have to recast ravens nonstop.
Why have only 2 subpar skills when you can have 4?
I would like if druid could fully spec into summon build and have both Poison creeper, Wolves, Bear, Ravens at max dmg efficiency at once.
Hard to solve it keeping Raven dmg as it is in 2.4. 3+ Synergies are complicating things. Only option is to redesign synergies.
I agree that synergies needs a complete overhaul and not just for the Summoning Tree.
I would actually like that dog whistle if both necro and druid summoner had a skill that instantly recalled all minions to ur position it would eliminate the need for enigma
