I just logged into d3 for kicks and can’t help but notice how much better this is which is ironic to say the least. Will there be a D3R?
Look at the release dates for D2R and D3. 
Yeah, D2:R has visually more impressive graphics than D3… Which it should, considering the D2:R overlay graphics engine utilizes advancements in graphics technology that is roughly 10 years newer than Diablo 3’s graphics engine.
D3 can run on a potato computer these days. D2:R needs a bit more of a beefy computer to run on in comparison.

I don’t have a clue what classic wow looks like, nor do I care. If it’s cartoony like wow and D3 I’m not going to like it, but still, it’s irrelevant to my opinion.
Prior to D2R I consider PoE’s environment the best successor of D2, though I don’t like much else about PoE. However, the best successor to D2’s environment is this 
Which I feel is the road Blizzard should have taken the Diablo franchise.
I consider SC 2 a beautiful successor of SC BW.
I love the way the Doom franchise art has evolved and can’t say for sure if I like Doom 3’s art or DOOM 2016’s art better.
I think the Lamborghini Miura is a work of art, then everything that followed up until the Huracan is pure dog crap.
I think the most beautiful car ever made is the 1986 Ferrari 288 GTO, and the 2015 Ferrari F12tdf a close 2nd.
My point with all these examples is that I’m not stuck in fanboydom, the past nor in nostalgia. I genuinely see D2 as a completely better game than D3, and from what I’ve seen of D4 I don’t think it’s much better than D3.
