Diablo Immortal is p2w right, but you can enjoy it enough even if you pay less

I raised the Conqueror to level 8. Let me give you some tips.

Please pay for the Battle Pass after level 60. Up to level 60, it is easy to level up with quests. However, leveling is not easy after that, so it is better to use Battle Pass experience. Also, it is helpful to receive legendary weapons after level 60.

You don’t have to get a 5-star Legendary Gem. If your goal is to raise a 1-star gem to level 5, you don’t need to pay much.

Legendary jewels are important, but legendary weapons are also important. Raising 1-star jewels to level 5 increases the chance of a magic item drop. Even if you try to upgrade a 2-star gem, it can cost a lot of money, so I recommend upgrading a 1-star gem.

Maybe $40 would be enough.

No don’t encourage a predatory game like this.

You shouldn’t have to pay to receive a ledengary weapon but to (PLAY) (FARM) and most importantly of a game … to (HAVE FUN).

It can be predatory for those who want to pay a lot, but not very predatory for those who don’t. YouTubers and streamers are exaggerating. You’ll know when you play the game. This game is really fun. Don’t miss the chance.

It predatory even if you don’t want to spend alot … Look at your own text … (MAYBE) 40 $ would be enough … not even sure you are going to get something useful out of 40 $.

The free part of the game is fun. If you wish to continue past lvl 60 and lvl up your gear and become even more powerful, there is a clear paywall (multiple in fact) in place, like many other mobile games of their type. If you simply want to play and enjoy the leveling process you don’t need to spend a dime. If you wish to play end game and really max out the character, this game is punitive in its pay requirements.

Sometimes Joshua said it best… “The only winning move is not to play.” or in this case PAY.

It’s a shame really as this game for a mobile Diablo game is quite well made. It’s just way too littered with p2w microtransactions. I get the developers need to feed their kids, but there are ways of doing it without being THIS greedy (Hi PoE, I’m looking at you).

No it sucks

There’s a hidden “feature” that reduces your experience gain so you can’t catch up to swipers. E.G -70% experience per kill

There’s a cap of 5 times you can loot anything pretty much.

So many hidden caps that stop you from doing things more then twice a day.

imagine only being able to kill Meph 5 times a day in D2r. hahah

unless you :credit_card: :whale:

my friend. This is a free mobile game. The market is completely different. Consistent expenditures are required. All games do. It’s not fair to be strict only with Immortals. Blizzard has been giving us a lot of fun for a long time. Can’t Blizzard do the same as other companies now?

Oh ? where did i said i was hard only on blizzard ? Any company that goes for such a predatory system deserve to be hated. Mobile game have the worst F2P model so far and this need to be changed.

Guys, “The Most Dangerous Game” isn’t really all that bad, I’ve survived til day 4, let me give you some tips - The post.

The whole game is endlessly trying to stonewall you into opening your wallet. The only tip is to not install it.

I don’t believe the MTX shop is the issue. It’s the way it’s implemented and how being able to max your character is tied (and in fact REQUIRED) directly to spending ridiculous amounts of money to do it.

They can absolutely implement a cash shop in a way that doesn’t nickel/dime/paywall to the extreme players. They chose to go the opposite direction. There are absolutely games that do this better (I already mentioned PoE) where players are ok spending money on the games shop but aren’t required to do so to play the full game.

This is what people have a problem with moreso then any other mobile game that does similar cash shops. Diablo is a well loved franchise and clearly the execs that make the monotization decisions didn’t learn from the D3 auction house fiasco and decided to just ruin what little good faith/good will they had with many of their hardcore fanbase by implementing this exorbitant and obnoxious cash shop.

What makes it even worse is for a mobile game DI is not bad. It has good combat, good presentation, and a decent play loop. The problem is the loop FORCES you into PAY PAY PAY pretty quickly or you will not be able to maximize your character. You hit the xp wall pretty quickly after lvl 30 good luck getting any high level gems as a free player (you can’t get 5 stars without using legendary crests which you can’t get any at any decent quantity unless you pay $ for the currency to buy them).

Imagine killing a boss and instantly receiving an MTX popup. I’d have to disinfect my phone from the vomit.

this is the problem, and it’s the reason i’ll never touch diablo immortal.

this right here. this excuse.

“you don’t have to pay much”

that tells me all i need to know about the game.

i would rather pay 60 bucks up front for a complete game, than get nickel and dimed left and right for months until i get fed up when the cost of advancement exceeds my disposable income.

The problem is $60 the price of a AAA game won’t even scratch the surface of the $ you need to spend to cap out your character. Keep in mind these things aren’t account wide – they are PER character so good luck if you like to play several different characters.

This right here is the plague infested flea in the room, that’s going to inevitably bite. They were always, without fail, without reserve or morality, aiming to increase the ceiling to keep the mega-whales chasing the carrot on the stick. Which means your investment, no matter how large or small, was always going to be devalued the longer you play the game.

As someone that’s played gachas from ~2013 (PAD) and onwards, this has always been the case.

and that’s why i don’t touch gachas anymore. i can’t even remember the name of the one that hooked me back in the day, but was spending thousands a month on it by the end, and never even broke into the top 1000 rankings due to the whales who would spend thousands a day. it was one of those games, there’s like a million of them, where you build a team of summoned heroes to fight. similar to afk arena or raid shadow legends, but this was back before either of them

now the only gacha i play is afk arena, and it’s mostly a bathroom time waster. it’s easier not to spend money on it when i don’t have money, as well.

Seriously… how is this guy not suspended already

I’m the first one to post a lot but at least all my posts are about different topics and about improving the game

This dude has 7 topics in the last 24h talking about the exact same thing which is a very hot topic right now and he goes with the inflammatory position on it

It’s fine having a different opinion, but 7 topics in 24h with an approach that piss people off is obvious trolling &/or volontary perturbation of the forums

I’m just going to flag him for trolling

Was it BloodBrothers? I remember that one being popular and having to combine unit into units for stronger * units.

Yeah noticed that as well and also flagged him for trolling.

you know it may have been! it sounds familiar. i wanna say it was like 2014 or so when i played it. it was before they all started making vertical view gachas, they were all still “turn your phone sideways”

The irony of people who could turn their phone to landscape for a gacha but still capture video in portrait makes my brain bleed to this day. lol
