Day 2 Q/A:
- Modding will be supported *No details were given other than they wanted to remove the need for dll injects
- PC version will support un-capped frame rates *No mention on Engine cap
- Classic will be included in purchase

- Trading will function the same way albeit with more QoL *Linking items in chat and comparing to equipped was mentioned
- Leader boards will be global and cross platform
- Bugs are being addressed on an individual basis *More details are mentioned in Llama’s video as well.
Examples of things being looked at are; Mana Burn doing 255x it’s intended mana damage, insta-kill poison cloud snakes in H halls, frame timings(assembly fury/fend and other frame issued skills), fire enchant and straight up skill mis-calculations.
Examples of things not being looked at, E-bugging, Quest bugging(Andy) and other “quirks”. - Offline mode is truly offline after the initial License Key Registration with the server.
- Dclone will exist but with numbers tweaked as it’s not a global server.
- Currently ladder rune words are disabled in single player as 1.14D *Player feedback was mentioned as important for this
- No Mac/iOS/Unix support currently but they are looking at this
- Ultra wide monitors are planned to be support but may have some limitations that have not yet been determined *This is likely due to game mechanics for agro radius, skill range and other balance
- Darkness/Lighting has been completely changed *This is another point they are looking for player feedback on as they do not want a mechanical advantage to playing either way
- Arreat Summit website will stay active and mostly un-changed
- Friends list will no longer require commands and instead be included in the new UI that pulls from Bnet
- Existing original D2 saves cannot be used in D2R
- D2R will have shared loot not instanced
- Player interaction features such as reporting is included
- Tech Alpha is a sign up based and they are looking for lots of feedback as well as overall “Feel” of the game. Is it a true remaster? Does it feel like D2?
MrLlamma Q/A:
- 70/30 art *They are aiming for 70% of the art to match the original art but straight up re-mastered. 30% of the art is the original but updated.
- Zoom functionality *What was shown was a toggle between close and default distance
- All items are rendered 3D models. This means ALL items look exactly the same worn on your character model as they do in the inventory.
- Visuals can be swapped to classic in game
- Game logic is true to original *The engine still ticks 25 times a second, without going in depth this means it will still have the same “breakpoints” as original
- All audio has been remastered
- Additional audio has been added *Mostly ambient sounds
- Monster spawns, Items, drop rates will all be the same as 1.14D
- Compatibility, art, resolution, sound have all been target to be updated
- Shared stash is separate for ladder and non-ladder
- This remaster is PC first, as per original D2 you can bind up to 12 skill keys
- Controller scheme; pathing becomes hold to move(but still grid based), distance/movement skills will have a default range, target skills with soft-auto there intended target(Iron golem and Telekinesis mentioned)
- As both classic and LoD are in this game both are supported
- Stash quick keys or click and drag *This is unconfirmed instead of having to drag and drop you can hold a key and click it to auto move
- Supports 5 additional languages
- Act specific character screens *This functions similar to D3 menu backgrounds
- 8 player multiplayer limit
- PvP will function the same just with cleaner UI
- Lobby UI and functionality has been improved *They specifically mentioned being able to join Normal games after beating higher difficulties
- Ladder leader boards are kept forever publicly
- Character expiration is no longer a thing
- Duplicate character names are possible *All character names will have an internal ID associated with them similar to account names
- All offline/Lan characters are completely separate from online ones
- Duping, Bots, Realm Downs are being combated *Realm Downs are basically gone by the sound of it however there still will be game limits of some kind
