CM requires investment where as conviction is one and done. Highly geared endgame Blizz Sorcs will have this at max probably but the vast majority of players won’t. I think 1/5 is a bit much, but maybe something around 1/3?
CM starts at −20% and increases that reduction by 5% each level, most players will have it around 11 or 12 based on equipped items which is -70%ish, 1/3 of this would be around -23%, where as 1/5 would make it pointless at -14% with a max level CM at -23% under the 1/5 penalty.
There’s a value here and I agree but 1/5 is a bit much.
good job too the d2re team with your 20 like for this patch and post post from your suppose 10k player voting for this patch , now your season 2 is already dead and you also kill the game . good job to kill diablo 2 after 21 year
where you got it all wrong , here how blizzard advertising the game ( and the same classic Diablo® II gameplay you remember.) and he all know is not , diablo2 legacy player asking back them for a remaster not d2 turning in d3
Evil Has Survived
Diablo® II: Resurrected breathes new life into Blizzard Entertainment’s acclaimed ARPG and its expansion, Diablo® II: Lord of Destruction®, from beginning to end. Return to fight for Sanctuary and discover the fate of the mysterious Dark Wanderer rebuilt in all-new 3D graphics, brand-new cinematics, remastered audio… and the same classic Diablo® II gameplay you remember.

New sunder thing, ie breaking some immunities, gives me motivation to play again. Immunities was always the thing I disliked most about d2, right from the start, and although its only partial damage it still means I can play all areas now without purposefully weakening my build with cross trees (when I get the items) which is a huge boost to the game for me. Credit to the team for making this change.
You do realize that you can play the game as you remember, right? Terror Zones are optional. Sundering charms are optional. You are in no way being forced to utilize them. And before you bring up anything about “well that’s what the meta are going to be running blah blah blah”, then that is YOU forcing yourself to use them because of that reason.
I mean… to be fair you could use that same logic on Hammerdins, cold sorc and Enigma. You’ll just get shouted down for doing it. Not sure if it’s a safe logical pathway for you here.
I’m going to have faith that you can extrapolate what I mean.
You do realize that you can play the game how you want, right? [Blizzard sorc, Enigma, Hammerdin] are optional. Meta is optional. You are in no way being forced to play meta in ladder.
Alienating D2’s player base that enjoys the game by playing efficiently is not a good move from any standpoint. This game isn’t carried by people who “just like playing strafeazon because it’s a nice skill”, etc.
this mean nothing . player will make character and play 5 min and are gone after , also all number have a lot of are manipulation , you will see the next month player will come on the forum not finding game online , d2re sell for about 5 million copie and 1 year after more of 90% of the player base dont play anymore , fact are you dont see the number of player omline blizzard hide these number compare d2 classic lod
and i will say maybe more 95% dont play anymore , and this forum is amost dead only the same user are active on this forum mean not playing this boring game and like more wasting time on the furom compare playing the game , anyway have a good day going to play a game i like vs wasting time on a lost cause , where the dev have any clue what they doing enjoy your broken useless faster hit recouvry and your 5 frame ww barb , and you classic share stash enjoy your d3 2.0
It would be fantastic to see the population drop off on the server where stat sticks become the only meta. I would bet thousands of dollars the version that stuck more to the way the game has been for 20 years, with qol improvements, would be where everyone is.
