No matter what Blizzard bring to the game, someone is always going to hate it. Some peoples minds close before they even give it a try.
Man, killing the diamond weapon was a crowning achievement of my gaming career. Nothing like it!

If only giving it a try didnāt also mean permanent. Iām all about further development. But not all ideas are good ideas. And changing the meta is a big deal to consider.

Hey, at least we are given the opportunity to try the changes out with D2:R with PTR testingā¦ In the OG, we just got whatever they gave us and that was that. If there was anything majorly wrong, it might have been addressed the next patch.

Iām entirely okay with them changing things drastically from season to season, as long as there is a baseline in non-ladder that is roughly identical to how the game has been played for 15+ years.
If they want to do a ladder without Enigma, or a new alternative, a ladder without immunities etc. I donāt care. Just do something fresh and challenging, but donāt stamp that as the permanent state of the game for all modes. Thatās where I draw the line.

Well think of it this way. Itās healthy to have opposing positions and a constant debate. Without it, the company would be more or less blind and likely not make the correct decisions.

Agreed, debate is healthy for the future of the game. But having an open mind is also healthy.
Theorycrafting along with trial and error is all we have to work with.
The mind is like an umbrellaā¦ It only works when open.

what i take away form that isā¦ about 25% of the original d2 player went back for d2:R over 20 years later.
