Somewhere exactly around the time Activision got involved, I think.
Doesn’t matter where else it’s happening. The people here play/played this game and it sucks that blizz is being as shi*ty as the other companies. Apparently it’s a problem across the board. And that’s sucks for the consumer
Every d2 friend I have said they’d play again if there were changes.
mmm sharp stick in the eye again.
A blizzard standard of worthless.
What changes do you mean? Like stash px and other stuff like changing stats from gear?
But bots and rmt infested game"play" wouldt matter?
What a lazy company. Microsoft, fix this please!!!
Theres nothing else I can say that hasn’t been said already. Why are there no patch updates and no QOL changes like a loot filter or more stash room or anything. Way to let down the masses BILL your friend ZARD. I would pay money for QOL changes at this point come on!!!
not a cent until they fulfill their original promises
so … if they were to separate the ladders/relams, like they are supposed to be, there would be no headstart, there’s be a lot less botting on our realm, etc…
Update? Hell, I’d settle for a fix on chat and put it back to the way it was …
I’d settle for re-separating the realms …
I’d settle for putting TCP/IP back …
I’d settle for a few of the 20+ year old glitches and such to be FINALLY fixed …
I’d settle for Cain being back by the stash in Act 5 again …
There’s a lot I’d settle for before they did an update!!
I’d settle for bot control, continuous banwaves …
I’d settle for having Mosaic and Enigma removed from the game, to rebalance things and piss off the loser/hacker/botter/cheaters …
I’d settle for Micro-whatever firing all the lazy blizz employees and putting real programmers in there …
There’s a lot I’d settle for …
But unlike gen z, I won’t be butt-hurt about not getting my way …
This is actually a major plus and great big face-slap to botters and RTM stores. I LOVE IT!!!
woke, broke-back blizzard? LMAO!!! They went, now they are “broke”.
Notice all the alts popping up trying to get their way??? Yeah, I noticed that, too.
Regardless of the different suggestions here, it would make ladder incredibly fun if some stuff gets changed for only 4 months and only at ladder.
From double density ladder to no high end runewords, at least it would bring some variety and alot of fun.
Blizzard’s theme everyone sing along.
Is that crickets I hear chirping?
Will Blizzard introduce an anti-bot system on this ladder? This is already taking a long time for you to pay attention to this problem, which destroys the ladder in a few days!
BAN BOTS
The one thing botters/ RMTrs love is shorter and shorter ladders. Which is quite useless.
What botters/RMTrs hated was the year long ladder. It cut into their profits and was hurting them … but with the help of all of them and all the alts they use on the forums, they convinced bot-net to shorten ladders time and again.
Isn’t about time we cleaned the forums up as well as online bot issues?
TBH, Bethesda isn’t much better than Blizzard.
There is a disease with these large studios, they are all suffering from it.
It’s called them being under the umbrella of a publicly traded company.
The most important group of people are not the customers… It’s the shareholders.
It’s unfortunate too, because that’s where all of the money is for the state of the art technology to make the greatest games a reality.
The corporate business model may have its merits and efficiencies for some industries, but it is an extremely toxic and self-destructive mix for any kind of art or entertainment. It’s not that art/entertainment shouldn’t be profitable, it’s that it’s about so much more.
When optimizing a product/property to extract maximum profit from said art/entertainment (which is their fiduciary responsibility to the shareholders), it chokes out everything else that can’t be easily quantified on a spread sheet. In the end that leaves behind a hollowed out shell of the original inspiration and fire that made the thing great to begin with, which, ironically, will likely destroy the longevity of its profitability.
Some companies are able to walk that tightrope a bit better than others, but the corporate model is always going to apply strong, downward pressure on quality. Sometimes companies and their investors/owners can also have a “moment of clarity” where they’ve realized the long-term tragedy their company has created and try to get back to “what it’s all about”, but results will vary.
Wow, Technomancer, that was very well written.
Thanks, I guess I have my moments.
It’s just something I’ve been grinding my axe on for literally decades. It got started from seeing how music (which is something very near and dear to my heart) and the music industry took a total nose-dive through the 90s after all the major labels became publicly traded companies. Over time, I then started seeing parallels with many other industries like tv/movies and, later, video games.
On one hand, as a creative myself, I totally understand the need and desire to make money from your creations. Everybody has to eat and deserves to be rewarded for their (good ) work. On the other hand, when that need and desire becomes the main priority, the creation can suffer greatly. I also know that from first hand experience. However, if you then take that and put it under the yoke of mafia-style “#$!@ you, pay me!” corporate existence, well, good friggin luck.
