Diablo II: Resurrected audio/video stuttering during gameplay

I just downloaded the game a few days ago and I’ve tried maxing my performance options, minimizing performance options and Reinstalling. I have a strong PC and an Nvidia RTX 3050. There should not be any problems running this game. Please help.

I agree, with a setup like that you should not be having any problems running D2R. Right now I am running it on a relatively old PC with an AMD Radeon 7800 series (1 Mb VRAM) GPU and although it can be a little slow with a lot of animation going on, the game is very usable and playable.

I would suggest playing around with your video setup options and ensuring that you have the latest nVidia device drivers (the ones supplied by the manufacturer, NOT the ones installed by Window$ which are often old and buggy) installed.

Good luck!

not sure if this will help you bro but I have an RTX too and I went through this exact scenario last week after I switched over to the Nvidia game ready driver. Singleplayer and Online was chopping like every 5 seconds especially when leaving and entering town/switching characters

What worked for me:

First I cleared the Nvidia shader cache. There’s easy tutorials on Google. Afterwards, I went into the Nvidia app. I increased the shader cache size to 100GB under Graphics > Global Settings menu. Here I turned off Vertical Sync, Ambient Occlusion Quality, and set the Power management to maximum performance.

Restarted computer then went back into Nvidia app > Graphics > Program Settings and clicked “Optimize” It will choose the highest possible settings by default and set them in D2R when the program is opened.

The stuttering will continue at first during play through while the graphics card recompiles all fresh shaders and stores them into the increased cache size. Once this is finished, performance begins to improve and takes a lot of stress off your card in the future.

Hope some of this helps bro

Note: I’m running off a “gaming” laptop from Best Buy and noticed my fan was running a little loud so later, I went into the Video settings in D2R and rolled back all the “Ultra” presets to “Very High” then let the program idle for 5-10 minutes. Once I started playing again all the issues with framerate and stuttering were gone and I haven’t had any since.

Good luck
