Diablo 4 vs Diablo 2

I finished d4 and i have to say it was good. The graphic, the cinematics and gameplay soundtracks was much better than in diablo 3. Campaigne was like a movie u watching.
I liked the Bridge when u go in town.

PvP sucks. PvP can only work if the attacks are slower like in diablo 2.

Diablo 2 is still the best Diablo of all.

Having played Server Slam, I wasn’t impressed with Diablo 4’s gameplay, and build options.
But it was fun watching a full playthrough on YouTube. Saved money, and got to see what is what.

Diablo 4 is a scam game. It’s a test to see how in fun they can make a game and still have people buy it.

Yeah diablo 4 skill/build options sucks… I have to agree, diablo 2 is the best game, beats d3 & d4 anytime.

maggot vs wolf.
2020.

D4 isn’t too bad if you don’t care at all about an endgame meta loop and just want to play the campaign and put it away forever.

But I haven’t played it since season zero. I plan on trying it again for season 3 to see if it’s improved at all. Hoping they have interesting items now. Where I can set goals for rare builds or something like a Tesladin.

d4 sux cuz there is no trading. blizz wanted to monopolize on the p2w players.

the skill tree was incoherent. we need to see it in one view and not lament about our mistakes by grinding for gold.

the new attributes were overly complex.
it was too different from d2. what happened to the breakpoints? also which idiot thought that going to decimals was a good idea?

the scaled difficulty was a retarded idea. you never felt a sense of power.

when you introduce a new series in a franchise, there has to be some resemblance to the old so that there is some sense of coherence and continuity. d4 was far too different from d2.

Except that there is. For many builds/slots, bis is a well rolled rare as the item base, which are all tradable until you customize the item. They even opened up more trade with boss summon mats during S2. Problem is, that like D2, you need a third party community to effectively trade and D4 has been exploited through gold dupes. Whenever you open up player to player trading, the community finds ways to exploit. There is no Blizzard p2w, only community based p2w like in D2.

The skill tree is pretty simple, the only confusing part is rather than the D2 method of per-requistite skills, you have a required number of points to spend before you can move to the next major skill cluster. Even D2 you had to switch between 3 skill tree screens. The respec system is fine, not free but not prohibitive until you start accounting for paragon boards and wanting to run multiple builds on one character.

Scaled difficulty was not an issue except at launch during the campaign. Once you reach base level cap and start gaining paragon, it’s easy to feel more powerful, especially with season mechanics. This is where the Nightmare Dungeons come in, providing a way to scale your challenge to your liking.

While I agree, that D2 is the Golden Boy of the Diablo franchise, after dumping considerable hours into the game, it does get boring, especially as it seems Blizzard has moved away from the seasonal updates with D2R, making coming back every 4 months feel more like a chore with nothing different to look forward to besides making the umpteenth clone of my favorite builds.

i would like to argue with you but no time. however here is something you can do to make the game fresh: gm melee pvp.

Diablo 4 is way better than D2R, more fun, hava a horse, you can use tattoos run dungeons, many things.

Diablo series ends with Diablo 2(r).
Maybe 3 and 4 are good games for some people. But they have never been Diablo and will never be.

I think both games are good, OFC with D2 D3 and D4 installed on my PC I play D2R daily but all the others have something fun in them.
In D3 I really enjoyed doing 300/500/600 rat runs a day. infinite grind and repetitiveness was making it fun.

In D2 I love leveling and after all it’s same :poop: if not worse than in D3. You are forced to run whatever blizzard tells you to run for an hour. 0 choices to be made other than to play or ALT+F4
About D4, it changed alot. I played from launch until they “fixed” nightmare dungeon resets and just came back before christmass to do seasonal journey. I really enjoyed the game and it was NOT as repetitive as before, helltides/world bosses/NM dungeons/ harvests then Zir thingy, uber bosses. In general alot to do.

So as stated earlier, D2R is my choice but I wouldn’t say that others are trash.
