he starts talking about WoW but you can skip over, also someone in the comments mentions a Cerberus game unit is also referenced as an “amalgam” and likely is what they mean by “amalgam of rage”
of course all of that is speculation and should be taken with a grain of salt
That was probably one of the more insulting things to be touted after D3 launch, players complain about extreme lack of content and they say they want players to experience the story over and over again.
Like what the butterflies killing our beloved favorite with no real thought behind it.
My hype for D4 is a miniscule fraction of what D3 was, still will need to blow me away pre-launch to get my money…but who knows.
D3 just missed on so many levels for me. The blown out colours and cartoon like dimensions at times. Just an odd thought process went into all that.
Found it funny at the time that hellgate London had a swirl effect shadow like end boss and Diablo had it too. Random but hellgate London would have worked with more time in development.
that particular scene where she turns into the lord of terror was the only redeeming quality of the story actually
I’ll have to disagree, the way you experience the story the ambience and the details themselves in D2 are no where near anything D3 did, my main complaint with D3 is what they did with the story, they rushed it out after a few last minute changes and the story turned out horrible
Problem is, it now stayed canon and it doesn’t seem they understand how bad D3 affected the story and they are just going from where D3 left off, they should either look at how D1 or divinity original sin 2 narrated their story from a third person view and not the way they are using an in story character to tell it like in the cinematics “hell is coming”
if you want to replicate the way deckard cain narrated part of the story, do just that, but don’t make the character aware of the forth wall, it just seems childish and cheap
Sure d2 atmosfere is better in my taste but d3 plot is just much more deeper than d2 plot which is nothing but a roadtrip and 75% of it are just side quests
And i agree that the killing of Cain was not necessary but tbh i was not that attached to him
you seem to be responding to someone else, I didn’t even mention Cain, D2’s story is told differently and is not treating the consumer like a child by spoon feeding him the plot, further more you are “experiencing” the story first hand and not being told what’s happening and further more it leaves a lot of mystery in the air creating more alure and wonder as to what is beyond the walls and what else is there to find out, which is a good way to make people buy the books
D3 story was pure garbage that just spat out facts and occurrences from the sin war trilogy I’m sorry, has nothing to do with Cain
I think it’s going to be okay.
However, I also think that it will be too casual. And they making already the same mistakes as usual… they focus on the most unimportant…first. the grafics…
at least i read this in the videos at this moment. i wish they would focus more on the itemization, the loot and the gameplay… the DEPTH of the Game…not the shell…
this…absolutly…
killing cain was not straight a bad idea. ( for me at least, he was old…did his job as a horadrim…and in every good story anyone important had to be killed). but get killed by…that purple bull*** “thing” ?! wtf. i hope anyone was fired because of this fauxpat!
and the stupidest idea was to kill not only ONE (Cain) but BOTH (Leah) main / Story characters so that you have no relation to any char left.
Sry but the way i see it is that d2 didnt even bother to complete tell its plot…problably bc its so much shallow and i personally want to know more where is more to be knew, d2 just dont delivers.
Yes, d3 is much more intuitive and it needed to be bc of the amount of info in it
I really dont know which d2 you played but Cain tells us all the time what is happening and will happen so there is almost no mistery. In d3 at least adrias plot was hidden from you all the time and with the death of Cain and Leah the game delivered the massage that no npc is safe
My list based on story:
1.D1: Best story, mysterious, scary, good twist at the end.
2.D3: Bit of cliche, kind of know what’s going to happen, still some mysteri of how we going to get there, ok twist at the end.
3.D2: You know exactly who you’re chaseing and why, it’s basicly: try to catch bad guy, kill everything that tries to stop you. It added much more to the lore, but the story itself, was not much.
4.D2LoD and D3RoS on paar both pretty mehh.
the two quotes above contradict each other, does it have a story or it doesn’t?
make up your mind.
seems like you just like the childish story telling approach and this is where you are coming from, I still stand my ground on D3 story telling being garbage
They dont, one doesnt exclude the other
What Cain tell us is what is happening and what will happen but in no way it is the complete plot of d2. Sadly most of d2 plot fits inside one npc
Thats not the case…d3 story is much more deeper and well told than d2 objectively speaking…if you desagree with the way it was told or with the plot it self, thats nothing but a frustrated opinion
Same above
Agree and a funny fact i already mentioned is that brevik said it was a mistake from the blizz cinematic team
Thats exactly my opinion
At least RoS expanded the lore a little bit more
And LoD 2/3 of lod are lame sidequests, in the end is just defeat the ancients and stop baal
