Diablo 4 is more expensive than ever

As far as I can tell, you can no longer purchase the base game. They’re forcing people into the expansion bundle

DO I NEED DIABLO IV BASE GAME TO PLAY VESSEL OF HATRED?

Yes. You must have the Diablo IV base game to experience the Vessel of Hatred content. For new players who don’t already have Diablo IV, you can pre-purchase the Diablo IV Expansion Bundle which includes the base game playable immediately, plus Vessel of Hatred Standard Edition which will become available October 8.

If I’m not mistaken, diablo 4 is $90 and the expansion is $55…
The diablo 4 experience at its cheapest will now cost something close to $150 CAD for standard edition w/expansion lol.

Unless there’s a price break on the bundle, WOW that’s getting steep.

Just wait for the 25-50% sale that’ll come this Christmas. LOL!

What do you mean? Diablo 4 base is available to buy for me and it’s on -40% sale now.

U wanna know what’s cheapest? Don’t play it. What’s the point of buying when you gonna abandon the game later anyways.

The reason you have this post means you don’t have the base game yet. Just keep it up and hold it off, you’ve been doing great so far!

Game is on sale right now for $30(40% off), which is $50 normally. The Expansion(Pre-Purchase price) is $40, hence with the bundle you can get it for $70(USD). Deluxe variants obviously cost more. Price on the Expansion may go up post launch but keep in mind that the base game was $70 at launch(Deluxe variants upwards of $100).

In other words, you’re getting more game for the same price right now. Yet as others have said, if you haven’t bought it yet, you likely won’t regardless of what the price is. I’m not buying it out of principle. I did Diablo 3, as did quite a few people, but I learned my lesson.

Yep, same here. Just don’t buy. Play D2R instead.

Who cares? Would you be upset you can’t buy dog crap if it had to come bundled with cat puke?

when you put garbage on top of garbage you just get more garbage. now if that garbage interests you, you’re free to give them money.

anyone who isn’t razzle dazzled by garbage presented as shiny new thing has done the right thing.

but i don’t see many people playing d4 for how new it is.

D4 sucks. I would not play for free.

Totally agree. I even forked over the money to find out myself how terrible the game is first hand, sadly. Will NOT be purchasing any further content. Oddly enough, there is a free game and sequel coming out soon that is 100% better than D4 and it is free. Beats tD4 in every aspect, character build diversity, graphics, boss fights, itemization, etc. How wild is that? lol

Base D4 is available by itself. It’s the bottom option:

Base game is $50, base expac is $40. When bought together it’s $70.

That’s nothing new. The vast majority of expansions require some base version. Hence, expansions.

funny to see green letters around these parts

Yeah, I never did buy it.
it doesn’t offer me what I’m looking for in a diablo game.
I’d be more content going backward to diablo one than forward into any of the modern releases.

You’re not usually forced to buy the expansion though.

But I do see now there’s an option to just buy diablo 4, Couldn’t find it for the life of me.
So is the price of diablo 4 standard permanently set to 66CAD/50USD now?

A bit off topic, but:

lol

Uh… Hasn’t that been the case with every game in the series since Diablo 1? Or was hellfire standalone? I don’t remember

Season was ruined by a lvling glitch. One of the main features disable. The main class focus of the season was nerfed. Trade disabled.

Couple that with the game is not fun and doesn’t have a single feature d2 doesn’t have better. And voila. A massive let down.

Expansions have always been optional, far as I can tell.

Diablo 4 steam price is now 66CAD down from 90CAD.
And it doesn’t list it as a sale. I think base game d4 has been permanently reduced, now that I’ve investigated a little further.

Ok so why now, in Canada, the base game is 66.99$ (67$), the expansion is 53.99$ (54$), but the bundle is 89.99$ (90$) ? If we split in two (for 2 titles), that’s ~45$ each. If we keep the base game price (67$), the expansion pack cost (90-67) 23$ in the bundle. You charge the expansion pack 31$ (54-23) more to buy separately! That’s a nice way to thank those who buy D4 day one…!
