Developer appreciation thread!

I just wanted to take a moment to thank the developers. They reached into imagination to bring my all time favorite game into the modern gaming forefront.

I remember a few years ago, D2R was hinted at. I was playing d2 when I heard it, and thought, “That’d be cool.”

It is very, very cool. Thanks guys!

If that’s how you truly feel they you probably shouldn’t buy ANY game released these days as they all get patches and updates (many on day 1). Perhaps be a bit more positive in a thread where someone honestly wanted to say thank you to the devs for their hard work rather than use it to bash them.

Unless you have worked in the software industry for any amount of time, you have no idea how much work and effort these things take and I for one really enjoyed the 3D conversion that has been done to one of my favorite games of all time and I applaud the developers work. Were mistakes made regarding the online piece of the game? Absolutely but they are working hard to fix it (try the PTR and help them out). The only other game I have played nearly as many hours on that I’ve loved nearly as much was Dark Age of Camelot, and that was a monumental effort to get out the door with a very small team.

I’m not blaming them for the still being in beta. They have to deal with corporate – who caused this. Also most games release as early access these days, first. This was a bait and switch on many levels, and I will never shut up about it.

Perhaps you could contribute your own thread about that rather than derailing someone’s honest attempt at thanking the devs for the work they’ve done in a game he clearly enjoys.
I don’t share your opinion but I do kindly ask you leave this one to those of us that also have an appreciation for the work that was done.

This isn’t derailing. The developers are doing a fine job with this beta. You need to get over yourself. This is a game forum.

I think the OP was sarcastic.
If real, wow.

No, it’s genuine. I applaud the work they’ve done. It has problems, but I promise bro someday soon you will be able to identify items inside of your cube, chill

Seriously though. A few small changes here and there, not all of them I like. The overall product is one I endorse.

And yeah, let me throw my naive, blind appreciation out to the team of guys that when I complain about bugs and stuff on the forums, it winds up getting fixed. That’s what I’d call a “Good Job”.

Agree with OP. Can anyone name a better remaster than D2R? Serious question.

The design lead and dev team seem to have their heads on straight.

It does honestly feel more like a Beta than a polished game. The new graphics are nice, but I honestly can’t account for obvious things that should have been fixed (specifically, NHAM) making into a “finished” game.

Yes, Resident evil 2.

It has overwhelmingly positive reactions on steam. You dont have that in D2R.

I still enjoy playing D2R and graphicaly its very nice, gameplay is same and they are trying to update game which is great, but issues at release made it not fun for many.

I still think devs did good job and they maybe could not anticipate some issues which happened because they build the new game on top of old one so it is more complicated. Also you cant really blame devs for executive decions of leadership if they for example push game too soon.

I mean, to call it unfinished goes without saying everything is like that. Diablo 2 is over 20 years old, and still has some of the same bugs. We all kinda new that going in. I don’t think there are games that don’t or never had a large amount of bugs.

Re2 was a remake though. Completely different engine under the hood and story rework. Great game though. However, Final Fantasy 12 The Zodiac Age was an awesome remaster of the version of the game that wasn’t released in NA. However, graphically speaking, I think D2R is a top tier remaster. One of the best graphical upgrades I’ve played.
