Well the devs must have tried some of this stuff in the PTR with gear right???
If they did where is the list of stuff they tried. It could show some of us more insight why things were chosen and why they might need correcting.
So if their isn’t a thread or a place where devs have given their choice of gear low-mid-high then end game with Xplayers in game. Maybe we just might be able to see what they see when they stick to the changes and maybe/hope they post a video or stream something.
Blizzard is making changes that they felt were balanced, then giving the players the opportunity to try them. Then we provide feedback through the PTR Feedback forums.
With the original game, the player community didn’t have a public test realm to try things out. We got the patch, we got what they felt was the best for the game, and that was it. We could voice our opinions in the forums, but had to wait until the next patch for any chance of changes.
It’s more of a democratic approach to game balancing decisions. After all, this is everyone’s game. Everyone should have a voice.
no they make random changes and then make a PTR to get testing for free, which is why i do not participate in it, if they want me to test things, they can pay me.
Just one and done random changes eh? Doubtful. I’m sure they play around with numbers and find a happy medium that the dev team agrees on… Also I’m sure their friends and family get an inside play test as well.
You’ve effectively put a blindfold on and muted your voice. So you have no right to complain about any changes.
Hahaha, good luck with that. ![]()
haha i know, but like honestly, they just expect us all to test their BS for free. and honestly. that’s just not me.
they’ve released this pretty poorly imo. and with no classic 1.14d ladder experience before they change things up and ladder at the same time?? not what i wanted personally…
all of what they’re doing is kind of a slap in the face imo.
and no, that doesn’t mean i cannot complain. just because i didn’t test it out and give feedback, doesn’t mean their ideas were good in the first place. let’s say i did test it out thoroughly and gave feedback but they don’t listen to what i say? is it better that i wasted my time and don’t get listened to? (exactly why i don’t participate)… i feel like my time would be wasted. nothing i do or say would change anything.
there’s already people complaining about how there’s little thought process going into most of this. buffing builds that don’t need it, not giving love to builds that could use it etc… it just seems a little off the tracks. like they don’t really know what’s happening. so forgive me if i don’t want to participate in that lol.
With this being a going on 22 year old game, this might be the best balancing approach they have available… It’s everyone’s game, and a democratic approach makes sense. Diablo 2 has a large number of players who know this game very well, and in some cases the players know the game and gameplay better than the developers do.
i honestly wish they’d just hire a bunch of old schoolers… i don’t know who’s making decisions right now but it doesn’t seem like they’ve played the game much lol.
This is why I would have liked to see a video and list of gear in what they saw. Not just some explination.
So far from what I can see quite a few choices they made was notbso good.
