They shouldve change the interface to prevent accidental click on it.
Very dangerous place to put the delete button
hey man, it is what it is! Of course i knew iâd get flamed but whatâs the point of making a major fail if you and others canât laugh about it later
When I press X it ask if I want to confirm delet my char.
I donât know if it can be serious troll or stupid.
80 might be slightly out of pocket without some help from some friends to rush through hell, but you can get to 75 by yourself. You donât need a rush itâs literally not hard. 90 minutes to get through normal, 30 minutes of baal runs to 40. 2 hours to get through nightmare. 1 hour of baal runs to 75. Play through hell.
You obviously donât play exclusively solo for the baal runs and join a âtelebaalâ game set.
Well the servers are back up and I have work to do =-)!!!
Donât make my mistake!
Happy to be laughed at as long as the thread potentially helps at least one person. Good luck everyon!!
well, I believe most ppl were tired or just click too fast.
Have you ever paid for something and didnât count your change?
Itâs kinda like that I guess.
No not happened in 30 years of gaming.
âare you sure that you want to delete this character?â
Not only would you have had to press the delete button, which is out of the way, but you also would have had to click âYesâ at the confirmation prompt.
I donât buy it.
You sound like you never played D2. Leveling to 80 literally takes 6 hours. You do it in a group.
1-12 Trist runs
Look for kill Andy group and there are Act 2 groups out there.
15-20 Tomb runs
20-24 Normal Cow runs
24 Ancients,
25-45 Normal Baal runs. Go to NM
Search games all the way to Act5 Ancients.
NM Baal runs up to 75, Go to Heal.
Search for the Act clearing groups.
Unfortunately Druid is not the best class for first character. People are making sorc as a first to MF. I started with ptopaz gemmed chest, helm and Rhyme shield, blue MF rings and neck running NM Mephisto. Got gear, switched on Hell Meph. Something like this.
Everyone whoâs explaining how stupid it is, i cant see how you can be stupid enough to not see the problem.
Red X on a PC means âexitâ. Confirmation messages are standard and noone reads the text. You press exit, games ask if you are sure, yes i am sure. click.
I deleted a character like this very early on. I was like heh, what happened ? didnt i just exit the game ? why am i still here ? hey, where is my character ? wtf they use a red x for delete character O.o !? Well since then i know to be careful not to touch that button, but still every day when i want to exit the game, that button draws on me. It wants me to push it, its a red X after all, which means exitâŚ
Totally terrible design.
Tickets wont help, itâs gone. Sorry.
Fortunately they are changing the interface, but too late for you
Dont listen to the ignorant fools blaming you for this god awful UI design. It has happened to thousands of players, they couldnât be more wrong.
Not everyone is as smart as you. You should realize that by now. Everyone else is a complete idiot in comparison to you, so you have to have some empathy for our stupidity. We will click Ok on confirmation boxes without reading them when we click a button with a close icon, itâs just how we are. Weâre idiots, what can I say?
They should have designed this better to be idiot proof.
Thatâs karma for having such good luck. You canât have it all. The bad comes with the good. You get that lucky on those amazing drops, something must come down!
Because ânormalâ dudes use ESCâŚ
Next time just hit the escape button.
There ya go.
No more accidental deleted toons.
Hey man I feel your pain. If you want ill rush you and see if I can help u out with some items. Are you console or PC?
A Red âXâ is one of those things to stay away from.
Exit game is âESCâ.
Always âESCâ for exit game.
I donât believe that anyone who has had the patience and time enough to level to 90 and farm multiple high value items, accidentally deletes their character⌠Deleting a character isnât easy and itâs not a simple mistake. To have the time, patience, skill, and attention to detail to push that far, then to lose it because you âaccidentally deletedâ it doesnât make any logical, or rational sense at all. In my 20+ years of playing this game I have never even come close to accidentally deleting a character, the same goes for literally millions of others. So, in my opinion, youâre either lying about your progress and inventory, or youâre lying about deleting it.
Maybe they designed it this way on purpose, to make up for not having the 90 day deletion rule anymore. Just culling the herd a different way.
It is actually quite the opposite, early on sure its patience and all that, but after 90 levels of grinding the same areaâs over and over, it becomes such low brain activity that you are barely classed as a living person, after farming the same areas (currently 92) often I find myself leaning back in my chair barely clinging to consciousness as I tele, blizz, tele, blizz my way through farming spots.
Do I believe some of the stuff across the forums ? absolutely not, but the odd case it is a thing I used to disbelieve all of them (can find a few posts in here about that) but, I know people who it has happened to by complete accident just so happened to be the way the stars aligned, friend dropped his controller at the menu screen, mustâve landed on the button when it impacted the floor, when he bent down to grab his controller he accidently pressed a button down, as one does from time to time with grip and just like that his 94 paladin evaporated into the ether never to be seen again.
All they have to do is add 1 more step, its common in 99% of games to confirm your deletion of character by either typing their name into the box or simply typing delete⌠If not that then, a button to ârestore recently deletedâ Its a common theme in their games to have that (Diablo 3, WoW) perhaps not as extensive as it is in WoW but, why its not in this one is beyond me.
