This is still an issue today.
For me not. There are enough other ways.
And tbh I love the new feature.
It is not a new feature, it is literally a bug. It doesnāt matter if there are other ways to identify items or not, Cain should still work the way he did in LOD, as LOD functionality was what was promised and not delivered.

Youāre just being contrary for the sake of it, Cain needs to be restored to his original D2 functionality and identify items in the cube.
But hey, thanks for bumping the topic. Makes it more likely for a developer to see it and fix it.

am I the only person that recalls cain not identifying items in the cube? Iām fairly certain if you wanted to sell an item unid (common back in LoD) you could place it in the cube to prevent ID.
Evidently, you missed my video, posted above.
First, I ran my original D2:LoD. With an unidentified Amulet in my Inventory and an unidentified Ring in my Cube, (which was in my Inventory), Cain Identified both.
Then, I ran D2:R. With an unidentified Ring in my Cube, (which was in my Inventory), Cain DID NOT even have the option to Identify Items. I had to swap items between my Inventory and Cube to get Cain to Identify that one Ring. (Very inconvenient!)
Hereās that video again:
The ONLY way Cain should NOT be able to Identify items in the Horadric Cube is if you have the Cube stored in your Stash.
Edit: Not only that, but when the Horadric Cube was introduced, Blizzard even made a statement that it would expand a Characterās Inventory by 8 Slots.
But, what good is having 8 more Inventory Slots if they effectively DONāT work?!
A fix for Cain not identifying items inside the Cube has been confirmed by Pez Radar on Twitter for the next patch! All of Sanctuary rejoice!!!
Reading some stuff coming in this next update for D2R and I'm thrilled the team got the fix in for Cain identifying items in the Horadric Cube when it is in your inventory. Cain looks everywhere :P
