Just a reminder if you’re using the Dclone Tracker on .io to track Dclone, it can be set by anyone to anything (there is no regulation) and that trolls have figured this out and are messing with it almost every 1-10min setting it to 5/6 or 6/6 - i set it back to what it is when i notice it and so do others, but please be aware it is completely messed up as a result around busy times
Some kids or adults are having fun continuously setting it incorrectly, especially for US or maybe they think setting it to 5/6 will encourage others to sell their Soj’s, but something to keep in mind - the ppl selling multiple soj’s already have the good sense to type /u to check dclone status in game before selling -u better believe they are counting and taking note.
a lot of randos that get excited will start public game hopping into my trade game and run to frigid at only 1/6 and its an indicator to me to check the tracker status online, and yep - someone has set it to 5/6 or 6/6 for the 80th time…
just an fyi not to get too excited if u see 5/6 or 6/6 - hit up a forum and usually someone is nice enough to update the status for public - i try to every time i see a change in game actually and others do too - check general forum recent posting and trade at the least - i try to always hit these 2 areas myself but before u hop into a public game (and look like an idiot running to frigid every time) try the “/u” command and select /uberdiablo to see the progression yourself - will save u several loadscreens and looking like a fool

Yeah I had to set it back to 1/6 after checking in-game that it wasn’t 5/6…so I guess the tracker isn’t reliable anymore, it only took less than 48h for it to happen…

Yeah, that’s how to verify the online tracker is faulty. It’s at 5/6 right now because some troll updated it to that. But in game it’s like 1/6

ya its because we dont spend 24hrs in the game. so u can easily check a website if u have it bookmarked instead of booting up the game, loading into the game, typing a command, then closing out the game and doing it all again 10 or 20 or 30 min later
WAY easier to just single click a bookmark link and see wat it says - like checking the weather without going outside
Work from home don’t wanna keep Diablo running all day. Nice to have notifications in a small window that takes a tiny fraction of my displays vs a full game

Do you really believe we didn’t know that? I won’t take the time to explain why the tracker is useful since you’re so smart.

- not at computer
- not having to switch to three different realms to check
I’m astounded you couldn’t figure out either one of these.
Went through this years ago when I ran a script that tracked server SOJ sell counts on IRC.
Was fine with the honor system for a long time, but as more and more people joined the channel hunting clones it brought people that want to ruin things as well.
Had to eventually limit it to trusted people only that could update the database with counts.

Just chiming in on this - when Schnork and I thought about the tool we had maximum participation in mind and eliminating friction to try and get as many people using the tool as possible. So we decided not to gate the tool to registered users only. We anticipated trolls but assumed that it would self-moderate if enough people participated. Bear in mind that this was a last-minute addition to v1.37…
It’s clear now that I’ll need to change it to only allow registered users to make progress reports, so that I can deal with the losers. I am on holiday though and don’t have access to a computer, so this won’t happen for a week or so. In the meantime you guys will just have to be vigilant!
