Dclone and prevent monster heal

I got sorc blizzard and asa traper on hc.
Lvl 8x. Not much geareaded.

If i use a wepon with prevent monster heal, i need to hit and damage clon , then when aplied kill him without move 2 screens away or aply again precent monster heal.

Will also work, instead a weapon and mele hit, wear with trapper a belt and kill him trough traps cast and master shadows? , or wear same belt on sorc and cast statics, blizzards and frostballs?

You need quite high dmg to outdmg his healing. I doubt you have that with your characters.

You dont need prevent monster heal tho. Get something with open wounds as it works too to stop his hp regen. Use it on merc and use life tap wand charges so merc stays alive and support him with full rejuvs when he has yellow hp bar.

Open wounds doesnt last long as prevent monster heal but its great as it can be used on mercenary unlike the PMH.

PMH and open woundd work only when you hit with attacks using akways hits ar attack rating. It doesnt work with spells.

When you get dclone in your game. Spawn him in A2. Take the arcane sanctuar. Then go back through the portal just above the WP. Right there you can get him stuck behind a doorway. Either your trapper or your sorc can kill him with no risk.

If/when you get fully geared he is quite easy to handle, but still this is probably the best way to secure the kill.

Stuff like Woestave on your merc works well. The slowing effect is very helpful, and it also has Open Wounds. If you combine poison and open wounds, on mercs, esp. with slowing, and your merc can keep hitting him, then that’s works pretty well, even without PMH.

On my merc I go with Guardian Angel or Shafstop with Kira’s Guardian or Tal Rasha’s Mask.

If i craft malice in a 3 socket polearm and give it to merc is enought?

My merc uses grisword heart and tal rasha head or bulkward runeword head ( i think will be better than tal, cuz dclone cant be live litched)

make an edge bow runeword and shoot dclone with it.
poison damage on the bow will turn dclone green and that’s how you know you successfully applied prevent heal.

you will want to make edge runeword anyway for gambling

Can you still kill him with the seals in Act 4? Or did they change that? Always had a pally around so never had a reason to test lol.

they patched it long time ago

Ahh gotcha. Man the patches really take the fun out of things sometimes. D2 was better with all the exploits lol.

At least it’s still possible to make a bugged cow portal right? :stuck_out_tongue: Too bad you can’t enter it in D2R.

Assuming they never fixed this anyway. Sadly it doesn’t go to the glicthed cow level like it did in old D2.

if you’re a trapper, go vendor a claw with any charge up skill and finisher (or just use a chargeup and finisher if you already have them for some reason). charge up the skill on some other monster, then while wearing anything with prevent monster heal, kick dclone. you are guaranteed to apply prevent monster heal. doesnt even need to be the same claw, you can dual wield 1 claw with a finisher and another claw with a charge up, then swap back to your main set after you kick him and do damage with traps.

alternatively, fire trapper can effectively prevent his regen if you constantly lay down traps (wake of fire, not inferno, he’s going to move too much for inferno to hit him). youll run through mana quickly though. but fire trapper will take a long tiem to kill him if you have no -res, but that goes for light trapper too. if youre a light trapper, get a cmoon and lower res wand before you do it, then you wont have any issues with dclone res.

with sorc, unless you’re a firewall (or a fire sorc that can pass off as a firewall) sorc, youll just have to hurl pmh javelins through the bars in the palace cellar and then kill him with what u got. same thing with -res applies to sorc. static helps tremendously ofc. cold sorc has -res natively with cold mastery so wouldnt be too hard with a cold sorc. people like to have a poison charm in their inv to see the poison overlay to know they landed a javelin.
