This is a really simple idea, and I don’t understand why it has been done yet. When you disconnect while playing HC, your character leaves the game. You could honestly do this for softcore characters as well because dying in SC isnt fun either. Is this truly impossible? I lost connection for 30 seconds doing countess runs on my 89 pally and it must of been a perfect storm of my Merc getting stuck on a wall and a handful of goatmen and goblins ended his run. I wouldnt have died if I was only there 5 seconds.
sometimes i leave game and my character will sit there for 15-20 seconds. for no reason. i rarely leave game in a dangerous area unless i know everything is clear.
sucks when you dc. feel the pain, happened to me multiple times too
here before all the boot lickers come in and tell you “that’s what you get” for playing hc…
Kind of the issue with HC in general. Internet and game servers were never in a state I found to make HC super appealing. I want death to be my fault at the very least not internet issues.
But if they implement what you just said, then everyone is figuring out the best way to create a scenario in which it looks like you’re disconnected to get their character out quicker. So, then what is the point of HC? To see who is best at chickening when things are tough? No different then quitting to get out of a tough spot IMO. Or reverting your character to a game state 10 seconds ago before disconnect or exit or crash or whatever.
Not saying it doesn’t suck, but the opposite makes hardcore worthless.
I know I have utilized exiting game when things get way too scary. I was teleporting around the Durance Level 2 and my Tele staff ran out in a very bad spot. My merc gave me about 3 seconds before he got exploded, and I realized I was 98% dead. Right as the enemies were about to close in I quickly exited game reloaded and went right back to it.
Even if you have some get out of jail free cards, you can still easily get clapped by things outside of your control in HC. Just because you have safety options doesnt mean you’ll utilize them properly. HC is still HC, and the point is, your going to play much safer, build safer, and ur accomplishments will mean more. At least thats how I see it.
Thanks for the response
Guys, this is a issuee most of the community got it, and i am honest its not only the disconnection deaths and character stucks still ingame which we all witnessing.
The Perfomance Aspect of D2R is completely instable and unpredictable.
We witnessed ddos attacks last week or power outage gut burned smth like that (they are not really transparency about it) and we see these ruberbands at our screens, there is more but you guys know it
The list with issues in this game are long and at my opinion, if we adding all other aspects (like perfomance and stability etc) and areas of this game into a list, it has more cons as pros, i believe
And Blizzard really not response anything anymore to D2R but doing their stupid spring sales to get more wallets, yea we are wallets only for them.
Atleast a costumer of a product gets support, their supports su* its like you dont have really an support from them.
MY PC :
I7 K-variant 12th Gen
16gb ram DDR5 ( i will upgrade this to 32 gb in the next weeks and not because of crap d2r, because iam indie-developer aswell and this will reduce loading and importtime for gameobjects in UE5)
3080ti RTX
1gb speed glasfiber ethernet.
I have no idea what i need to have a stable game and perfomance for D2R (yea its the only game where i have these issues)
Is it the hardware ? I dont think so lol
Is it the Connection? I dont think so either.
Wtf,what we need to have a stable perfomance, i think we need a new company who gonna make stable proper games and i think thats what we all need.
Disconnects happen … at blizz … at your ISP company … along the route with all of the hops … etc …
Some things you can’t help … way too many connections from a long distance to control everything …
You can only hope to prepare … build your char’s health/res’ … to help protect and maybe survive … have well prepped/built merc …
on either end … yours … game company’s … there’s only so much you can do …
even prepping as I suggested … there’s only so much you can do …
there’s too many connections, too many variables in between … it’s gonna happen …
years ago, in 3 days, I lost 4 90+ level characters to same issues …
One option, costs millions & millions:
Have a dedicated line run from your house to blizz servers. No more issues.
[But, even then mother nature happens: hurricanes, ice storms, power outages, stupid drivers hitting telephone poles, ignorant city workers cutting lines w/o calling 811 first … I am sorry, but, the perfect gaming world connection does not exist]
