Dbrunski's thoughts on 2.4, HIT the gas

Ha, I actually read it wrong myself thinking it was PoE2

I like Debrunski125, I got to chat with him in pd2, when I was running paladin build and doing Cow levels with crap gear “because of splash damage” and other high-level areas in PD2. I think the Devs have a lot to learn from modes like Project Diablo. I agree with him 100%

Seriously he’s correct. The changes did not shift the meta enough. Devs need to be scared of pissing off the few loud minority of purists and go for actual changes.

I would start by getting rid of Martial Arts tree for Assassin completely, and replace it with something else, like claw techniques.

I have said this esp for summoner Druid, that they can take so much info from mods but they dont do it. classic blizzard…!
I mean, when mods are better from remastered games, what else to say?
This is why Blizz doesnt let D2R to be moded,. cause none will play D2R anymore

I don’t understand the overall point of these PTR’s because they don’t actually seem to want to change anything.

Which is weird because you can change a lot of skills in this game without touching anything that’s been foundational for the core game.

I agree with the video, I hope they start to ramp it up a bit more.

agreed. this 20 year meta is trash. hit the damn gas and make some real meaningful changes to classes.

Critical Strike is actually the best skill that the Amazon has. It aprovides “Critical Strike” up towards 70%-74%. This skill is technically better than Weapon Masteries actually, in terms of the DPS that it adds. Furthermore, Bowazons don’t need Deadly Strike. The gear they need doesn’t use Deadly Strike at all.

Jab is actually so strong that you can clear UBERs with it at base lv 1, without altering your build at all, and by using just a few cheap gear swaps.

If you want to talk about a bad Amazon skill, you should be talking about Impale.

It’s really not. In terms of best Passive it’s Critical Strike or Pierce depending on your build. In some cases I would probably pick Penetrate over CS/Pierce.

Weapon Masteries supply the user with ED%, AR%, Crit% in 1 passive. Great for a Spearzon, that doesn’t have the same luxury as Bowzon - who can stack endless amounts of dex with little risk of dying. Also non-Amazon Spears doesn’t even gain ED% from dex. A Spear Amazon using lvl 20 Jab only gain 42% Enhanced Damage and a slower attack speed than Zeal.
The problem with Critical Strike, is it falls off extremely quick when a Spearzon gain any Deadly Strike from gear. Weapon Masteries continue being good because they do more than offer the player Crit.

What a disingenuous thing to say, that has very little to do with Jab and everything to do with Crushing Blow & Life Tap.

The new Impale is a great reliable source of Slows Target, if you know anything about the game, you know Slows Target is insanely strong for Boss fights.

Reading what you wrote actually hurts.

BH is not picked in all of Pal builds - clearly useless skill.

Then you learn how damage is calculated and some math on the way.
After that you find out that you save 19 SP by using lvl 1 Jab.

It would be obviously better if you needed to ensure some DS on your gear.

It is shocking that skills abusing best melee mechanics are good.

Kelpie >>>> Impale - now I saved you 19 SP with which you can do reasonable thing and put them in CS.

Trolddom, with all due respect you have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about.
No play experience, and are seemingly unable to do math.

Few things for you:

Bowazon PvM & PvP Guide - Talking About New Patch - Amazon - Diablo 2 Resurrected Forums (blizzard.com)

D2r Elite Bowa End-Game Setup - 8 Player & UBER Demo.mp4 - Twitch UBER kills with base lv 1 Jab near middle to end.

D2r lv 1 Jab is still better than lv 20 Impale - Twitch Just watch it.

Furthermore, no one adds more than base 1 into Penetrate. The only people who actually add to Pierce are players who’ve never made it to the end game with full gear to realize a base lv 1 Pierce without even wearing Razortail, is still going to be about 71%-75% due to all of the + skills. You don’t need points into Pierce or Razor. You need 10%ias on your belt so you can hit 7fpa with a GMB and maintain maximum damage output in pvm ^^

The problem with Spearzons is that you aren’t using a damn shield and you have no skills like a Barb or Paly to bolster your flat defense rating. Everything about Spearzon is designed poorly compared to the other melee classes. If you want to use a Spearzon, you need to use a shield and then you can sit back in awe & wonder at how impossible the Zon becomes for monsters to kill.

You don’t seem to understand how Deadly Strike works. Deadly Strike does not stack with Critical Strike. DS only ever works if CS fails. So if you have a 70% CS, 7 out of 10 strikes will crit and DS will do nothing. DS only works on the 3 out of 10 strikes that fail, and then DS will roll its % chance to deal double damage. CS and DS do not stack. The effects of DS on an Amazon with CS are so diminished due to this, that choosing War Travs 15-25 integer damage will yield a much higher average damage output than choosing Gore Rider, despite the 15% DS 15% CB and 10% OW, vs. normal mobs anyway even in players 8.

I think they step on the accelerator for D3, those builds are insane

So tired of the definition of viable being soloing p7 :s

Yeah, the ideology is flawed.
People try to set builds next to an expensive end-game Hammerdin, Light Sorc, CS Zon, to compare if it’s “viable” which is just all wrong.
Those 3 builds needed to be toned down honestly, not used as a comparison for what’s viable.
If they use those 3 builds as a comparison for what’s viable, we’re going to get a lot of unfavorable power creep.

I feel like the dev team needs to take a step back and consider that you can balance a game without power creeping it. What we need is more general diversity, not power creep. Some people may be upset about it, but there are some things that honestly have needed nerfs for about the past 20 years, not buffs.

Yay, power-creep everything so he can click-bait some more using single player save files. That sounds like a perfect plan with no long term consequences at all.

Pretty much the only things i agree with him are Rabies as its pretty much the only bad skill that wasn’t given a much needed mechanical update and the ammo system that needs to go as it needlessly cripples otherwise average builds.

I couldn’t agree more with Dbrunksi on the holy fire change. It costs so many high runes just to be kind of P1 viable (not even counting unbreakable fire immunes). LLamma claimed it was OP, but if you pay attention to his gameplay, he actually struggled with fire immunes and lister, and he had to use pots multiple times, even in cows with zero immunes. Owning player-1 games by avoiding fire immune areas is not OP, it should be capable of doing this with the level of rune investment in this build.

What Devs need to realise is that there is no balancing without nerfs.

I laughed. It’s like you only read half of what I said and then started typing. Next time I suggest you think first, so you don’t make a fool out of yourself.

Yeah it’s too bad actually.
We are already looking at some builds being able to full clear the important objectives in an 8 player game solo, in like 6-8 minutes. I’m talking about Chaos, Baal, Eldritch/Shenk/Pindle, Meph, Andy, important HR drop points like Arcane.
This creates a really obnoxious flip over rate time of games, concerning the lifespan of a game from the moment is created to when everyone leaves it.
If anything, they need to be focusing on SLOWING DOWN the flip over rate for the sake of social cohesion. Adding new lv 85 areas is great but with the power creep we are about to see it won’t matter much. We need more reasons to stay in games longer together rather than leave them and make a new game every 5 minutes.

I know let me quote myself.
