Just when you think, it cannot get worse… LoL.
Dave Brevik actually warned pretty much everybody about this issues, for years. That you cannot really “re-make” Diablo 2, because of the way it was built. Being tight to refresh rates and other hardware related stuff, ending up in the amount of “frames” everything is happening in Diablo 2.
So, guess what, D2R screwed it up again, pretty much delivered a completely broken game.
IAS (increased attack speed) is entirely broken, looks like characters on steroids. Destroying any balance in game, who knows what ridiculous builds are possible at this point.
(he is using a normal bow on hell to demonstrate, just before you worry)
Now, we don’t just have a broken game because of incompetence in terms of database and server infrastructure, the game is already broken in core.
LOL I’d never thought I’d say this but… I WANT A REFUND.

Anyways, yea, wow. Broken. Already known though for quite some time.

This is just straight away outrages. Game broken in core.
Well, i admit that is exceptionally funny when Brevik went on record stating this issue would be something that would have to be tackled. They clearly ignored it entirely. He never said it was ‘impossible’ (IIR) , though he did say it would be very hard (maybe even nearly impossible?, i would have to go watch that again).
The fact is, it’s not ‘impossible’, but… it needed very due care and attention, and that, it never got.

There was a video around here earlier demonstrating how broken IAS is in PVP, specifically on the assassin. Coupled with the WSG gone, it seems like PVP is dead if this goes on.
I wonder how many months are left for D2R to become release-quality.

i’m sure theyll figure it out - i just worry about how much time it’s gonna take lol.
as brevik said: “Impossible? Never. Almost anything is possible. There are technical challenges.”
but he also said: “It will not be exactly the same game.”

I honestly don’t think this company will figure this one out.
This is an issue, nested deeply in core game mechanics.

It’s not broken, it functions the exact same as it does in classic because nothing has changed. Everything you see on the new graphical client is purely cosmetic. If you don’t like the mismatch between the two then switch to classic graphics, the end

Not true. Base game is coded in FPS. Since D2R is coded higher, it functions differently.
No it doesn’t.
The new graphics are running on top of the old engine. Game logic has not been touched in any way. The new graphics might look “faster” because they’re updating at 60fps. But that is purely animation and not any calculations
