Damage to demons

Guys i have a frenzy barbarian and a weapon that gives me the damage to demons effect, is the effect applied only to the weapon in question or also to the other one? thank you

Damage mods on weapons only apply to that weapon. So no, the damage to demons mod on weapon#1 will not apply to weapon#2.

Now if you have a + damage to demons% mod on a piece of armor, for example the +350% that Laying of Hands gloves gives from the Disciple set, then it will apply to any physical damage that you deal multiplicatively.

Then if you had Fortitude armor, you’d gain another +300% to all physical damage, again multiplicatively.

With both Laying of Hands and Fortitude armor, that’d equal a whopping +1700% 650% damage to demons! Bosses will go down super quick!

Edit: Correction, the two modifiers don’t multiply each other, they add together, but still affect your weapons calculated physical damage multiplicatively. It’d only be +650% damage to demons instead of the miscalculated 1700%, but it’s still powerful!

demon damage only works on physical damage?

Affirmative.

Damage to demons/undead is always treated as offweapon ED% even if it’s on a weapon, so in this particular case it actually does apply to your other weapon indirectly.

Oh, well then. I stand corrected. Didn’t think it did.

Just goes to show that even 22 years later, I’m still learning things about the game.

Well. I don’t know… Check the following @DarkMaster:
https://www.theamazonbasin.com/wiki/index.php?title=Two_weapons

“When the following modifiers are on a weapon, they only apply to attacks (including Dragon Talon, Dragon Tail and Dragon Flight) made using that weapon:”

%Damage to Demons is listed.

I guess I “lean in conflict”. lol

Therefore? the strange thing is that modifiers like enhanced damage don’t appear in the general characteristics while damage to demons/undead do and they add up to the stat given by other pieces of equipment

Hmm I assumed that since it’s added to offweapon ED% that it would be a “global” modifier but I’ll have to give that a test later if I remember. AB is very reputable though so I don’t doubt it.

How do you get that figure?
300 + 350 = 650

Because the enhanced damage mods work multiplicatively when they are equipped via pieces of armor.

Laying of Hands and Fortitude would boost 1 physical damage to 18 7.5 for Demons.
1 * 4 * 4.5=18
Edit: Correction, the separate damage type percentages stack, they do not multiply each other.

If you have multiple sources of the same mod equipped via armor, they additively stack, but still work multiplicatively as a whole to your weapons physical damage.

I’m currently running a Horker Throw Barb with Wraith Flight and Gimmershred along with Laying of Hands and Razortail, and he destroys Demons. A2 Blessed Aim Merc is equipped with Eth Reapers Toll/Treachery/Eth Stealskull. I just blitzed through A2 Hell last night, Duriel was a big pushover, he died in about 25 seconds, and that was all without Fortitude. Also have 1pt into Grim Ward if I really want to pour a truckload of confusion into a group of monsters, but I typically just leap around like a spider.

GIMME A LO RUNE, GAME.

% Damage to Demons is added to +% Damage when the target is a demon

Oh ok then. Good find. I stand corrected. :+1:

Even though less, it’s still powerful.
