The paragon system is literally just
+5 strength
or
+5 intellect
or
+5 dex
or
+50 armor
or
+5 stamina
so basically the end game is literally just D3 getting a stat point every level. it’s literally just d3 paragon. jeez the lies they tell, they were specifically asked about the paragon system and how it differed from d3 because everyone thinks d3 paragon is just dumb, and they said “no no no it’s so much better and different”.

Stop lying, you can also put glyphs into it which work similar to skills or aspects.

okay so for anyone that doesnt understand ill explain D4 glyphs.
The glyphs are literally just D3 passives, but they place them in the paragon area that has say like strength so that you are forced to get like twenty +5 strength nodes in order to empower the “glyph” which is just basically a D3 passive.

It’s just D3 paragons but even more restrictive.
they couldnt even make anything new or even take from D2, they just mixed D3 and WoW and Immortal into some Frankenstein concoction mess of a game.

it’s not bad, but it’s not great. and if you own the rights to the top 3 greatest game of all time D2, then you should be absolutely ashamed and embarrassed if d4 isnt GREAT with a capital G. What are you even doing if you dont have those standards?

I agree with you here, I was actually expecting more from the D4 Beta - it was good but not great - and far away from the Masterpiece called Diablo 2.
There is a huge potential for Diablo 4, but right now I highly doubt they gonna make use of it.

D4 Paragon is much more like a light version of the POE passive tree.
In POE you also only get small + Points until you reach one of the big points.
And the Glyphs are literally a C&P from POEs Jewels in the passive tree.
Also unlike D3 it is not just Main-Stat + Vit (which honestly is already more complex then most builds in D2, where it is just max Vit and the minimum required to wear your gear), every stat gives benefit to every character in D4, and the Paragon board allows to individualize it.

But why build upon a bad choice to begin with? Most longtime fans do not like that direction and new players aren’t likely to stick around so why bother.

Because you and me to a degree are the minority.
I don’t like all this CoD, Fortnite, Genshin Impact stuff as well, but it seems like there are many people out there who think otherwise and nowadays game companies go where the most money is.
I mean the beta was a huge success according to multiple sites, chances are high it will even blow up D3 sales… so yeah.

Bull hockey! How can Diablo 4 be a huge success? I mean, they won’t get mah coin so in a sense, Diablo 3 was more successful.

i’m going to post this non bias perspective which paints the game in a slightly positive light, but if any of you played D3 you see right through blizzards bull spit. They literally just broke things apart and tried to give them a fresh coat of paint. It’s a tldw video only 3 minutes long.

im playing d2 atm, i just wanted a sequel that is all. is it too much to ask for? i dont want a sequel to D3 either.
i played poe during the first year and rubberbanding lol, it was still pretty good game, and also i did a run when ToTems first got super strong, and i know the game has only gotten monumentally better, but i was going to wait for Crucible (name?) to give it a go. Is totems still a build?
This is why I wanted them to just take what D3 had, and make it better. Instead they took the crappy part of paragon levels in D3, and capped them with level 100. Its okay, I’ll still play the story, level a few characters as high as I tolerate, and then go back to grinding D3.
