D2R Randomiser Challenge

Has anyone tried this? Seems like a cool concept!

Current fortnight’s challenge:

Challenge 8 - “High Stakes”
(runs through June 28)

  • House Always Wins - vendors stop selling weapons and armor, and monsters stop dropping them. Every kill spills gold instead, and gold drops go way up. Gambling is the only way to arm yourself.
  • Titan’s Grip - weapon strength/dex requirements +50%, but weapons with stat requirements hit for double damage and double proc chance.
  • Arcane Surge - every skill costs double mana, but all skills deal +50% elemental damage.

Sounds like a cool concept for a season. Way more interesting than gatekeeping those few remaining LD-only runewords.
It’d need tweaking, though. For example, if all the equipment must be gambled, how do we obtain normal items for runewords? Or what does “+50% elemental damage” mean for skills not dealing elemental damage, or not dealing damage at all?

I mean d2 hc ssf is already close to a randomizer. At least a sane one.

If people enjoy the prospect of fighting Dclone at level 3 in the Den of Evil more power to them but its not for me lol.
