D2: Venom

+% Poison Skill Damage is applied when cast, and again when poison damage is applied by a melee attack.

Venom’s poison bit rate and length are added to those of Poison Dagger and the javelins of Poison Javelin and Plague Javelin.

https://www.theamazonbasin.com/wiki/index.php/Venom_(skill)

Venom caps the poisoning duration at 0.4 seconds, thus preventing long term poisoning.

Consequently, all other items will only inflict poison damage for 0.4 seconds.

Example: Though 700 damage over 10 seconds might seem impressive, only 28 damage will be inflicted due to the 0.4 seconds cap.

If a character who is buffed with Venom uses a physical skill that also inflicts poison (Poison Dagger for example), the duration is instead set to 0.4 seconds plus the duration of the skill itself, while the rate of damage is added to the attack.

This results in a monstrous amount of damage added to the skill.

For example, if a necromancer with level 15 Venom from Treachery Rune Word active uses level 25 Poison Dagger (which poisons over 11.6 seconds), the duration of the poison will be set to 12 seconds (11.6 + 0.4), and Venom will provide a total of 9150-9750 damage over that period (305/0.412 to 325/0.412).

https://diablo.fandom.com/wiki/Venom

So with 1-101 over 99 seconds it should do the trick, moreover if it is stackable

D2: Poison Damage

Currently, Poison Damage does not stack:

Poison damage from multiple attacks doesn’t sum: if a target is already poisoned, then the rate and length of that poison will be overwritten by that of any subsequent attack which has an equal or greater rate.

When player, mercenary or pet applies poison to a poisoned monster, their poison is applied for one frame instead of the current poison: if their poison has an equal or greater rate, it then overwrites the current poison and it gets applied for its length

https://www.theamazonbasin.com/wiki/index.php/Poison_Damage

Being able to stack poison damage from pets would be awesome.

This is, for example, one of the most requested features for Skeletal Mage.

Rather than fixing the 2-3 Poison Skeletal Mages that could spawn over the total pool of Mages, which would not be efficient, it is proposed a new summon, Mushroom Golem, specialized in Poison.
