An extra difficulty after Hell that just increase monster’s power.

Imo, Hell is too easy. Last year I managed to do a full solo Norm-Hell on Hardcore and it was easy. I did it in two days.
So, in this extra difficulty you would need a well balanced team to beat it. And for beating it, the reward could be, for exemple, an character tittle like Champion and Patriarch.
Maybe some item reward, like the Annihilus for example. But this would be controversial and very debatable.
I think this extra difficulty would be a great thing for the game, and it would keep the game alive for longer.
I agree that there should be an extra level of difficulty beyond Hell, but I don’t think they’re adding much.

Hammerdin. But on Hell Baal I had to respec because of the Immunes.
Well, I also beat Hell with a Sorc and a Hammadin… try a Barb, you won’t be dissapointed by the difficulty… I didn’t make it through act 1 Hell
Well, barb isnt the best char to solo because of the Immunes. But he has the best survivability because of warcries.
But anyway, overall, Hell it’s very easy with any char.
You should try a barb… it’s not easy… even with decent gear, you will not hit anything, if you do not grind a ton of levels in between and you are going to be sent into hit recovery all the time in hell. Also you need to find “cannot be frozen”, which makes it hard to get FHR, resis and enough AR. And if you have all this, you still do not have good dmg, but can barely survive on Hell…
Try the worst PvM class (without high end gear) before saying the game is too easy.
Again, Barb its easy in hell, probably you dont know how to play it.
The Barb is the class I most played in all these years.
So, just beacuse you think that Hell is hard for ONE class, doesnt mean the games’ difficulty is ok.

And btw, he has the worst survivability, because he doesn’t kill stuff… Best thing you can do in D2, is killing mobs before they kill you.
The best a barb can do is to stun with warcries and VERY slowly go through everything. And that’s not even what I am talking about, I am talking about playing a Barb, which is actually using weapons… this is not easy, I can assure you.

What I didnt do, was solo norm-hell with only self fould item. This I only did with the Pally.

Try that will a selffound Bowazone etc and call the game too easy. It all depends if you use a mainstream build or equip the char with already found GG items.
Ok, still giving a melee char good items OFC results in easy gameplay… see for example: every RPG there ever was.
The probem is just: If you start with any build, except for a cold sorc, a hammadin, a ele druid or a necro, you are going to have a hard time through Hell. And with a Barbarian in particular, you do not only get advantages with better gear, but the gear, that you gave your barb, is necessary to even beat the game. So it is literally impossible to beat the game with a barb, without explicit farming. That is NOT too easy if you ask me.
That being said though, I think the difficulties should not be touched as they are, but adding one certainly does not change the existing content. So I can’t really say anything against it, except for: it will be impossible to play this difficulty solo self found with a barb, without farming like 20 days playtime.
I think,Diablo2 is so great because you can make even bad builds work with skill and good items.

That is exactly what happened in D3 and D2 is different. You want to make a stupid build like a ranger pala? Go for it.
I love D2 for that. No force.
But that is the point. The extra difficulty would not be supposed to solo, you would need to team up to beat it. And this would bring up even more build options, like support builds from paladin and barb.
What are baal run monster levels? 85? I would be fine with a extra difficulty where all monsters are level 85 with perhaps bosses being 86.
Baal runs will get tiring.

and maybe unused sprites of enemies in the concept of what d3 could have been thrown in there…maybe even a new act to show the events leading into diablo immortal would be kinda cool.
Well, for different gameplay, I would rather use the DClone spawn change, which is an apparent problem. Back then, it spawned by selling SOJs, because 99% of SOJs online were dupes. Now there are no dupes anymore → anni in D2R would be worth like 100 high runes or so. So you HAVE TO change this system and I personally would go for a key system, as for ubers, but with a lot more super uniques, that can actually drop the keys (alternating maybe every day), such that the community really has to farm a lot of areas to get the keys.
For me, that’s the only part of the game, that should be changed, just because it needs to be changed.
No, keep D2 as D2, this is not a remake - it’s a remaster.
D2 doesn’t need extra difficulty. Leave it as it is. Normal, Nightmare, and Hell difficulty. Nothing more, nothing less!
