D2r is done from dev

By that i mean dev will stop putting patch for d2r. For them it was a waiting room for d4 to come out and here why.

  1. D2r dont bring money on the table like DI and D4 does with their battlepass(subsciption fee) every 3 month, wich d2r did not have.

2.the campfire chat is supposed to be the dev team talk to the diablo community, they only talk to the DI and D4 one only strange…

  1. D2r was a waiting room for the D4 train nothing more for them.

  2. Season will be the same nothing new like the first 4 season, so consider it on maintenance mode from now.

I know i will get alot of hate for what i have just say, but we need to face it.

Unfortunately I agree. Number of blue posts is equal with my expectations related to D2R.

Well since D4 was a complete fail to me besides the campaign, I can happily live with D2R for the following 10 years. Minor patches would be enough.

I hope we at least get the ladder only runewords moved to non ladder. But I hope you are wrong. I would like to see small tweaking going forward, none of the major changes some of the YT streamers recently mentioned. But small buffs to melee, uniques and underused skills and builds would be nice.

And D4 might not be as popular as Blizz wanted, but they made millions on all the pre sales. Remember this anyone who pre purchased and was unhappy with the final product. Do not buy until the product has been released and fully reviewed, ie buyer beware. When any company has to market like Blizz did, it should be seen as a warning sign.

When was D3 released? 2012. That was 11 years ago. D3 was meh. Diablo Immortal was trash. D4 was meh. That’s 11 years of track record that indicates this franchise is circling the drain. What you’re asking for is the equivalent of pulling the plane out of nosedive.

That’s exactly what happened to DOOM Eternal too. It wasn’t about the game. It was about hype that supercharged fandoms. People tend to be susceptible to FOMO and marketing departments know it, so they blast you with content to get you to open your wallet to pre-order at a premium price based on that alone. And a lot of you do it like clockwork instead of suspending judgment and making an informed purchase decision. NEVER pre-order any game.

You simply does not understand how money flow works and from where it comes. Their money is not coming from buying costumes or battlepass…

It’s obvious that the company will not do anything about d2r, but i kind of think that if they do, it won’t end up being better. Look at all their duck ups

You are talking from fear. Lets wait and see what actually happens. I rather direct my hate to those that deserve it.

There’s a chance they might still work on D2R. When you recognize that the only thing that motivates Blizzard is how they can assemble metrics to facilitate shareholders thinking they might have a profitable future. Time engagement is something D2 doesn’t have a problem with. If they want to make a time engagement chart across Diablo games to make shareholders think D4 is doing well, they could use D2R.

I also hope they still continue to do some work on D2R. It would be fun for holidays to add themed treasure goblins in some future patch. I doubt they will though.

there is most definitely a patch incoming, else they wouldn’t have bothered to unsticky the season 4 post.

as for no supporting d2:R post d4 launch?
while im clearly biased in this subject and cant form a truly objective opinion.

i dont really think thats a great marketing idea to do so.

d2:r can also get a boost from new players who played d4 and hasnt played d2, and want to try d2:R.

and while i hope this isnt the case its possible.

and while the d4 launch was pretty well received, the patch they launched last week didn’t exactly have the greatest reception based on what Ive been hearing.

LOD sold crazy well because not only was it one of the best games ever made, but being as such would spread via word of mouth.

and while the graphics and gameplay of d2:R are still certainly top notch.
the UI (outside of the being able to search for games in every difficulty, which is awesome and i love that i can)
outside of that one single ui improvement the new d2:R UI is TERRIBLE.

if your curious as to what i mean i have linked the thread i made below
( i recommend pressing the down arrow so the formatting is better)

blizzard has clearly prioritized selling to Asian spam markets over selling to actual players. but be doing so they will keep bleeding players.

and im sure a bunch of d4 players will come back to d2:R for next season.
its really a season or two seasons this next one that is the real test

Yeah they’ll add some “great” content. Like a battlepass, or buff Mozaic assassins/light sorcs/javazons some more. Right after they nerf melee.

Based on the information on www.blizztrack.com, no further development has occurred since May 2, 2023 for version 1.6.74264, which is the current version of the game. It’s relatively safe to say that if there is a patch incoming, it will be small.

The issue is that the D2 devs have to work on the mess called D4 now.

Since D4 is a fail deluxe, this will take forever to fix. Thus, no devs can actually work on D2R.

They probably don’t want lagacy appeal like with D2 LoD. Yeah thats it!

God forbid they create somthing people actually want to experience for more than a day as long as they get payed.

I would be shocked if Diablo 5 isn’t already half done! I mean, they have the best template in the world and the big brain work is done, its called Diablo 3.

More demon slaying! Bigger badder numbers! Yeah thats what we want. Nobody ever played Diablo 2 for PvP. No need to balance a thing!

For the love of god before they leave this game for good can they at least add a currency tab or stackables…

This just goes without saying in modern gaming, I think. Anyone dumb enough to pre-order deserves the trash results of the release. It’s basically telling the devs, “I don’t care how bad it is, take my money!” We won’t see proper quality control until most people speak with their wallets.
