- I have an Asus TUF DASH F15 (2021). My Windows 10 is auto-updated. After the latest D2R update, every time I start the game and also while playing D2R, my laptop’s fans’ speed increase dramatically so much so that I can hear it now unlike before the patch. Is this normal? Thank you!
Edit: Note: I already set the Video settings (Graphic Preset) to low and the fans still sound loud. I opened the laptop and the fans are clean. (bought the laptop last June)

I play solo in online mode. I found a Kite Shield in Nightmare Cows and went to Normal Larzuk to have it socketed. I only got 3 sockets. If I use the Nightmare Larzuk, is it guaranteed 4 sockets? Can I make a Spirit shield in online mode? Thank you!

To the devs: If i clear my google chrome’s cache but then click on Forums via my Battlenet app while signed in, I shouldn’t have to enter my credentials anymore in the Forum website. It is such a hassle since sometimes my phone (authenticator) isn’t with me. Thanks.
Yes… demanding games will increase fan speed of your computer…
that is their purpose… I can assure you it is nothing to worry about…
If this is the first time you heard the fans making noises… you most likely just play a demanding enough game before… … I gotta put my GPU fans at 100% when ever i play and im on DESKTOP PC… I can only imagine for a laptop.
Edit 1: Kite Shield Max Sockets is 3

I haven’t noticed much difference but I’ve never had excessive fan speeds, including open beta, when others have, so not sure.
I read your post as saying before yesterday’s D2R patch, the fans didn’t ramp up to an audible level while playing D2R, and now they do?
You mentioned Windows updates, but have you verified chipset and graphics drivers as well? Are you able to monitor CPU and GPU temps at all? As @ZaruenVoresu mentions just because the fans are on doesn’t necessarily indicate a problem, as they are designed to increase speed as needed for cooling, but them running more now than before does suggest your hardware is now getting hotter than it was previously, and of course there’s a limit to what fans can do cooling wise, so just because they went to max speed doesn’t mean the cooling provided by them at max speed is sufficient to keep everything cool. So figuring out what the actual temperatures are to determine if it’s an issue or not seems like a good next step.
Kite shield (and the exceptional version, Dragon Shield) is maximum of 3 sockets regardless of how you get them or the shields ilvl. To get 4 sockets you need the elite version, Monarch, which is the lowest STR req 4 socket capable non-pally specific shield.
