D2R in Act V Malah's reward of resistance potion

My Assassin cannot complete a Quest in Act V
when Malah rewards my character with a
Resistance potion. After right clicking the
potion, I don’t see an increase of resistance.
The Quest never completes with ongoing
reminders? Can anyone offer a solution?

The potion is to free Anya in the frozen river.
Speak with Anya
Go to malah and get potion
Go back to Anya and release her
Go back to malah and get scroll of resistance
Profit

Follow the instructions that are actually given in-game. Grenaa wrote it out. Sheesh.

people these days can’t complete a quest unless there’s a gold marker at the map showing them exactly what to do. ffs.

you get credit for saying it in a nice way which i never could. because i very much agree with the two posts under you.

I miss the mentality of old games. No marker, no nothing, listen carefully and figure it out. Modern games suck, nobody needs games like Witcher 3 for example, just skip everything, don’t read, don’t listen and just follow the marker and arrows, so boring   .

this ^, ive even talked to a guy they were like " we have to because they cant figure it out" humans aren’t getting stupider.
like BRO we played ocarina of time and had to figure out to play sarias song to the goron,
i played MYST at AGE 5.
could i beat it? of course not, but i was able to solve a puzzle or two here and there and i had fun.
devs need to stop dumbing things down, yeah every 10,00 players you might get someone like the OP, who somehow knows he gets a resistance from a specific quest but doesnt actaully read the literal instructions written on the quest.

but these are the extreme minority
let us explore the world, figure things out.

It’s all part of the upper .1%'s plan… People getting smarter through games, education and other means is against their interests. The average person being dumb means they don’t have to worry as much about competition, that way they can keep going to the bank. Meanwhile everyone else fights over the scraps the upper .1%'s is willing to pay them for work. Just wait, things will only get worse when full humanoid AI controlled robots are produced by the billions every year.

Knowledge is power.

I started to play at the age of 6. I had No idea what the quest Said, so i had to memorise it. English is not my native language. In tal rashas tomb i did not know that the sign told where duriel was. So i had to do every tomb until i found her

This clearly calls for:

Oh man I also loved wandering around that game at a young age!

I love this! Thank you sooooo much Orcinus! Gosh… I try to follow instructions? I even went back numerous times to the frozen river after speaking with Anya the first time I gave spoke her the potion from Malah and doing all this.
But Malah kept trying to give me a potion that did not remateralize. It’s like I’m talking to Malah and telling him you already gave me the potion and she already drank that nasty tasting medicine. Yep, I got Anya nice and warmed up. And man did she look hot. So we went out and even had a bit to eat back at camp. Anyways to make a long story longer. Malah keeps greeting me with the same message as if I didn’t complete the request. When out of the blue. Malah stops repeating and suddenly gave me a blank looking scroll? So I right click it and poof… It’s goes away… Dust in the wind… All we are is dust in the wind. Ok so proceeding along, all of the sudden I get the final instructions to kill Baal. I just don’t know about that Malah guy. He’s the one that went brain freeze on me like Anya 10 times over. Anyway, I love the enthusiasm that of sharing the knowledge. … Knowledge? What do I know. I’m just a dummy & old geezer coming up on my 66th birthday and having a ball ! Love you guys!

That was the issues! That charming old lady Malah got sick and tired of you calling her a guy. Treat her nicely next time!

100%.
Some games are still made like this, but they come from indie studios. Outer Wilds, Subnautica and Inscryption are amazing examples of games that give you the information, but let you come up with the solution yourself.

AAA titles are brain dead
