Is there any explanation as to why D2R is so much easier than the original game? I suspect the game is using non-ladder monster stat lines which I believe are lower than their ladder counterparts. Having a larger field of view is also enormously helpful but the difference in difficulty is quite dramatic in hell difficulty regardless.

We’re not in ladder so the stat differences are a large reason. Also (from beta), I found some skills and positioning easier with the new graphics UI… obviously doesn’t matter much for Necro

Well since their is less Desync positionning with D2R every attack will feel stronger now since you actually hit monsters now… Zeal paladin and fury druid wolf are the best exemple you can have with zeal hitting 1 hit on 5 on vanilla with 95 % AR most of the time.
If you think it is easy now, wait until Blizzard fixes the NHAM (Next Hit Always Misses) bug. Whirlwind Barbs will rejoice.
