D2R, a “visual remaster” that failed to add visual value well within the realm of a visual remaster… Aka give super Unique Unique appearances

Most unique monsters never recieved their own model, not because that not how Blizz north intended it but because they didnt had the time to do it, instead they went for the shortcut of recolouring the asset of an existing monster

they did change corpsefire, that means they know its the right thing to do

best example of this is the Counter, its just a green coloured hunter while that not how the countess is portrayed, that the countess https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/diablo/images/e/eb/Countess2.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20181125062528

Quest bosses like countess should have their own model but other super unique wouldnt need to be a whole new Model, sometime just doubling the size of the model is enough to give it a real unique feel

While I agree that unique monsters should’ve received brand new and/or updated models, I don’t agree with the assertion that D2R failed to do anything relevant to the topic. Remaster in the sense that it is in for games is simply bringing the graphics to a modern generation. This is simply splitting hairs, but I felt the need to make the distinction…
None the less, agree, unique monsters need their own models.

na this doesnt need attention at all.
They are as they were, with updated graphics. I see no reason to delve deep into this.

I’m sure they’ll get right on that for you

You’re not wrong though. Just gotta manage your expectation.

It would indeed be nice to have special appearances for more of the super unique monsters. Not necessarily all of them, just a few more.

Yeah at least have quests bosses have a Unique model

And the non-quest ones have simple modification like size, colours, fades, etc

For the sake of lore& theme

But also for the sake of visibility

It’s such an improvement to the game to have the Special monsters have a noticeable visual cue

Doesn’t the Dark Elder have a unique model already compared to the other bloated corpses?

He’s blue and also is wearing ragged robes. Just throwing that out there.

I think if the original devs were able to do this from the start, it would have added more immersion to the atmosphere.

When running through Act 1, the tinted uniques/champion packs are a bit boring. I once played someones mod and they had giant quill rats (I think this was in the original game), it definitely made act 1 stand out more.

I actually liked CharlesJT’s idea of the countess having firewall as an ability. She deserves a unique model because she does have a lot of lore in the game. The forgotten tower deserved to be a challenging quest from the start. There were a lot of areas the devs could have done better with.

Different model is “ok” but increasing their size its stupid. Why should a kin of their own be bigger? Its just a leader pack not some upper or superior being.
Falls too much into fantasy category.

I think the biggest reason the remaster doesn’t matter is because the screen is completely filled with stupid text all over it due to potions dropping and a bunch of other junk

If we aren’t allowed to use loot filters at least removing gold and potions and arrows as an option would be nice

I do agree that logically, if they intended to remaster to make the game look better, then loot filter would have been a logical thing to add, less clutter means you see the new good looking assets better

That and transmog to benefit from the cool 2d&3d art of all uniques, good and bad

Not only that but whilst they promised and insisted they Changed Nothing And everything is the the same it’s Not! The monsters are stronger than they ever were before, Resistances are worse! The items don’t give same protection they used too! 1st Example being Tal Rasha’s Set when you had the complete set used too max out resistances…I first noticed the difference when Diablo II Resurrected first came out, And this season when I finally got a Chains of Honor and *Mara’s Kaleidoscope where before the toon geared up with these resistances were maxed out no longer are, So with all of this and all of the rest…I guess we can truly say as a good remaster it isn’t…OK I’m not saying it’s the worst game ever, It’s a lot better than Diablo III for example However All Of The Fanboy Trolls have to stop saying it’s the same game don’t change it! Because that horse is long gone and escaped the barn over a year ago!

Wasn’t Dark Elder changed? He used to just look like a regular zombie now he has a cowl.

Wow. 9/10 troll. I’ll give you that.

At least I hope you troll because you are 100% wrong

And you Accuse Me Of Trolling! A very good case of the *old saying the pot calling the kettle black Suggestion look in the dictionary for the definition of Troll you’ll a picture of yourself looking back at you!

used to convey that the criticisms a person is aiming at someone else could equally well apply to themselves.

With a hint of salt maaan. Realy gets my day going.

Yeah i agree with this proposition. This is what devs should do ASAP before ladder 2 season. Without it the game is Imba, broken and unplayable… just BAD.

It’s a fun idea, but I’m not going to get out the torches and pitchforks to demand it. I do agree 100% with SWarrior though. Making enemies bigger is not a good idea for a change unless there’s some reasonable justification that makes sense in the world.

WoW has the same issue and it feels really silly to engage a human boss enemy and as a Draenei I only stand at half their height.
