From what Blizzard has publicly stated about D4, trading of high end items will not be possible or highly restricted.
This makes sense to exclude the influence of d2jsp and RMT.
In fact, I was horrified to see what was going on with d2jsp forum relative to fg and the D4 beta which is bound by NDA. The fact that these conversations were openly happening proved to me the problems with that website.
Can you imagine how terrible it would be if d2jsp users used their accumulated fg to shortcut D4?
Right, in a lot of games with an editor you can edit your stats, level, and items. If people can cheat maybe we should just stop making new games I mean what’s the point?
Why grind if you can open an editor and give yourself end game stuff. Save and close you finished the game. Same with ladders or trading or anything.
Lol really?
D4 is gonna sink like the titanic if trading is non existent and everything is acc bound…
Everyone keeps crying aw make it like d3…
make items rain from the sky, increase drop rate…
guys/gals…
go load d3 up.
increasing drop rates will not solve anything.
restricting trading in a ARPG is just stupid, it kills any purpose of playing online.
imagine you play as a druid and the only good items you find are for sorc or amazon. what do you do then? you just vendor amazing sorc items while still having your druid equipped in toilet paper armor??
if they restrict trading they’ll have to gut the itemization system so bad that practically every class could equip anything they find, no difference from one class to another.
if blizz hates trading sites so bad why aren’t they working on a better trading system ?
make an in-game auction house where the only accepted currency is some kind of unique token with drop chance similar to IST. Problem solved!
I think there should be restricted trading in Diablo 4, but they need to take every measure deemed necessary to log/track the trades. It’d probably be a good idea to limit the number of times an item can be traded, as well as a limited timeframe the item can be traded from when it drops. I think after one trade, the item becomes soulbound.
Trading makes the game fun. But it also breeds greed/RMT/botting.
is fine now. Restricted party trading/closure of the auction house ended the vast majotity of spam.
I like idea of party trading and among a small list of longterm friends/family (e.g. 5 people where trades could only occur after 6 months of online D4 frienship).
I don’t think Diablo 4 will be that popular for the roleplayers – they’re not making Diablo 4 a roleplaying game, by the looks of it, it’s more hack and slash all offense no defense cooldown-limited – rather than resource-limited strategic gameplay with varied offense and defensive strategies.
…and no, skills don’t count towards this.
Blizzard doesn’t seem to know how to make a Diablo or resource-based roleplaying game even when they own the rights to the ruleset and it’s likeness from Diablo 1 and 2.
…
and thus, they’re not catering to the D2JSP trading crowd – apart from the real money traders that’ll want to cash in on Diablo 4’s release and make bots for it.
D2jsp is only one of many trading platforms and the forum gold is not as useful as $. The few people with millions of forum gold are bots owner, they are busy with making $ and they are less likely to compete with you on ladder. You don’t need to be rich in forum gold, you can buy forum gold anytime on black market with much lower ratio. Not to mention many people only sell items for $ , not forum gold.
TL,DR: You can literally get anything if you have $. FG ? why cares
