So one of the things I always remember fondly is the closed battlenet lobbies in which you would see all of the players characters lined up at the bottom, there was a text chat window to the left and a start/join game window to the right (if I remember).
Now, with the new battlenet and Diablo II Resurrected being an hosted through it, I was wondering if we would still see others in the lobby in such a way. In fact, will there even be a lobby? Will there be trade lobbies? Where we can find others to trade in game items we need? D2 trading was such a strong point of the original and I would love to see this in Resurrected.

I agree - the D2 lobby system is full of charm, and is a really fun, unique way to socialize. I hope they keep it the same! Was always fun being able to make new chat room things or joining smaller ones.
Absolutely, man I can’t wait, I haven’t had hype for a game like this for over a decade.
Diablo II lobby is great, social, fun and very helpful.
- Especially for new players.
It has also a very beautiful charm to this game.
A lot of players will be really dissapointed if Vicarious Visions / Blizzard decide to remove this feature and wont implent it to D2:R.

There will be a lobby in battle.net multiplayer just like the original. Dev’s already said that in some interview I don’t remember where. We haven’t seen it yet because there have not been any multiplayer public test yet. Wait until August Battle.net Beta and you’ll see.
Lobbies was one of my favorite things about gaming in the 90s. I do hope it returns.
thats true. Lobbies are great. Its also important that you can create a game with custom name so that everyone can see the expected gaming content.

Thats something i missed in d3. i Always play hardcore (there are not so much players) and i do not run from ladder to ladder… so my problem after few month; There where no more players in d3 … 
for me its great to see games in d2 and to see how much people are in. so i can join and have fun. thats impossible in d3 - so for me d3 was most time a single player game…

My friend had found a screenshot of the channel screen for D2R but I am unable to share it since I cannot post links. It’s most likely an unfinished version but it does show the row on the bottom where the characters would be. It has a very similar layout to the one in original D2. You can see tabs for “play,” “create game,” “join game,” and “ladder.” I had made a thread about keeping channels in the game before I ever saw the screenshot or heard anything about the inclusion of them. It’s good to see that other people value having this aspect of original D2 included into D2R .
