D2-R No character sound in-game and cinematics

this is driving me crazy, I’ve checked all my settings and rebooted my pc but there are no voice sounds in game or on the cinematics. I need help…

Edit: I’m using Sound Blaster X7

I am having similar issue. There are no voices for NPC’s or voices in cinematics. All other sound is working fine

Had the same issue. I switched my 5.1 sound to 2.1 and then it worked fine again. But it’s pretty bad to switch that setting just for Diablo 2. I have a Creative Soundblaster Z.

need a dev to help solve this issue, i can’t play like this.

Bump. Also having this issue using 5.1 speakers. I did notice that the Voices are indeed there. If you turn the slider bars all to 0 exept for voices the max out your speaker volume you will hear the dialog. I didnt get on my hands and knees to verify but i suspect the Voices are being played through the Subwoofer.

I had the same problem. I have Sound Blasterx AE5-Plus. I started playing around with my settings for audio quality and the NPC’s speech returned. What did NOT work was 32 bit, 384 kHz. What DID work was any setting below that so I’m now using 32 bit, 192 kHz. Seems the Blizzard developers didn’t plan for such a high kHz.
