At least. Single player can get P8 playing by themselves. It’s very hard to get 8 players in one room except for cows and Baal, and that’s only 20 percent of the time. At least give Multiplayers P4. An average room that I get into only has 2-3 players 90 percent of the time. It would be nice to do TZs with 8 players, it just never happens.

Main reason people don’t group in D2 is and remains the lack of personal loot. Not sure if its the right solution for the game but without it i don’t see the game’s multiplayer aspect really popping off.
And yeah multiplayer scaling being very poor/easy is the main reason people even ask for stuff like P8. If P8 actually required 8 people to comfortably clear it, as it should be, people wouldn’t be asking for it lol.

if you are playing with strangers you cannot be expecting pleasantries, can you ? I mean, what do you expect from people you do not know ? they will grab whatever they can

giving the players switch to online games is very unlikely… who will play with others then… it is against the rationale of online play… and, needless to say it would be gift from god to botters

and certainly you do not expect to change the experience of everybody, to give the players switch to bots because you don’t have any friends in the game
Diablo 2 does not need players 4 or players 8 or or or.
At most what it should need is more motive for people to join with each other, because all of these /players x ideas from people is nothing more then a motivation to isolate people even more into private games online which is the opposite what you want from a online component.
I think they just think to much in personal benefit rather then consequence for the game as a whole.
You can either socialize with other players or just buy multiple accounts to fill out your group if you want to have more exp/drops.
Luckily, nothing like a “pX“ command for online or any other kind of simulation will ever happen to this game.

I have want this for a long time because of the stupid changes that they made when they made D2R.
Honestly, people who bot probably don’t care either way.
For me, D2R was bad because they eliminated any way to play with your friends other than the online battle.net option. In the classic game, we used TCP/IP to play we didn’t play on battle.net at all and we loved it.
In D2R, There is playing by yourself in offline or playing on battle.net and that is it. If they had some type of multiplayer other than battle.net then I would play that but they don’t. This is the real reason that I want the players 8 option for online play. Other solutions, make it so offline can invite friends to play, add a different server setup such as a SSF mode or something.
I would love the play this with my friends again but for me the game is way to easy without players 8. In offline, my level 1 fresh characters with nothing but whatever they start with have players 8 enabled for the challenge.
If you don’t want players 8 on battle.net, I don’t mind that IF there is some way to play with just my friends with players 8. Give me a solution for that and I will never ask for it again.

That’s not a reason or anyone’s fault because of bots. I have never botted or ever plan to. That is totally on blizz on why they’re bots. No reason to hold the game back because it’s 2026 and you still cannot prevent bots from ruining the game.

its quite ashame too that we cannot enjoy online play because of a few botters. It’s 2026, if they wanted to fix the botters they most Def could.

Here is another factor, I bought the warlock expansion but I haven’t even told my friends that I got it because there is no point. I have no interested in playing on battle.net with them so Blizzard might be losing sales because of this fact.
do I know that my friends would buy it? no but there is probably a good chance. I just wanted to check it out it sounded interesting. Do I regret buying it? no, but was a worth my money? I honestly not sure because I mostly just mess around in offline mode occasionally between work and other games I don’t play a lot so it probably wasn’t worth in but oh well.
I honestly probably should have waited for a year or so till it went on sale.
I also bet that I am not the only player that has friends that might buy the expansion if there were other ways to play together.
