Game keeps crashing
dunno why, but mine too. I managed to create a character at least. but keeps crashing before even starting to actually play
1st things first:
your PC’s meet or exceed D2R requirements, right?
Your CPU needs 4 cores or more, you need at least 8 Gigs of RAM plus some Gigs of free disk space for swap, your GPU must have at least 2 Gigs of VRAM and should be at least a GTX 660 or a HD 7850. Build-In GPU’s won’t do! Below that you’re out of luck, the game won’t run well or at all.
Game 1st aid:
Launcher → Options-Wheel → “Scan and Repair” option
If this is not enough you need to do some system maintenance:
Check that your sound and video drivers are up to date!
Open CMD with admin rights.
Run “chkdsk /f” and answer with “yes” to prepare a file system check.
Run “sfc /scannow” and let it fix damaged system files.
Run “shutdown /r /t 0” to reboot and do the file system check.
When the game still crashes, run it with a different user account (admin or normal). If this solves things, your regular user account is corrupt and needs to be replaced.
I have 32 Gigs of RAM with a Geforce RTX 4070 super. I did that scan and repair and nothing was wrong. Also ran the command, no issues.
