D2 has three player types

Then there are players like me that have yet to get a rune above an IST yet we don’t care, we just play for fun. We don’t come on the forums whining for loot changes. I suspect a lot of players are like me. We just quietly play and enjoy the game and don’t worry about farming or having the “best” gear.

The 3 types of players are filthy tryhards, filthy casuals and me alone in the middle.

Do the old school elists sorcmain purists count as "the suck players? because those are the ones i see complaining the most.

Perhaps my post was a bit harsh…

I am sorry to disappoint you, but there are only two types of D2R players:

1. D2R players who are not aware of Project Diablo 2 and Path of Diablo

2. x-D2R players who are now playing Project Diablo 2 and Path of Diablo

The player-base hasn’t been relevant since the late 2000s. D2R gave it a big jump and brought back so many, but the plethora of issues scared a lot of them away. Plus “fast killers” and “good farmers” are the same thing. Also if you struggle with this game, you should be ashamed of yourself. This game is EASY on hell difficulty, it’s all about grinding gear, some want max level and others wanna PVP.

Thanks for the laugh. PD2 and POD are both hot garbage. It’s D2 with a shiny belt buckle, still a bad game. D2R gave most people including myself what they wanted… a graphical update and polish on the mechanics. Granted the mechanics are still out of date… but they feel better.

How’s the graphics? They look like D2r? If no? Pass

“Updated” D2 graphics.

D2R is a copy of D2, a busted game with a new coat of paint. The mods listed have made QoL and put massive amounts of work into re-balancing skills, plus adding new skills, runewords, etc. D2R is never getting even 10% of what PD2 and PD have to offer.

I disagree as a primarily HC player. On SC sure, who cares if you are porting through CS to Baal and accidentally die to Stygian Dolls. On HC? Time to reroll.

I’ve played every character in HC out of sheer boredom… the game has never been hard, not in any way. So i’m gonna strongly disagree.

D2R is an actual shiny belt buckle on an old, busted, and cracked leather belt that is D2.

Polish on mechanics? That is a laugh. There is no polish on any mechanics.

Do you even play PD2 or PD?

Why would I play a mod of a game that isn’t good to begin with… you also basically repeated what I said. Cool? The mechanics are polished some… are the perfect? No, they’re outdated and clunky. You clearly want me to think what you want… instead of comprehending.

I am not going to comprehend a false statement. D2R cannot hold a candle to PD2 nor PD in terms of content. The updated GFX of D2R made a turd, that is D2, into a polished turd.

You are, your own words here, playing a copy of a game that is not good to begin with. The mods listed fixed most glaring issues with the original. What did D2R do, besides cashing in on the D2 name?

They took the basic formula for D2 and made their game from it. It’s not creative. It’s stupid IMO. I don’t like the changes they made. Any of them. Sorry to burst your bubble it was and is a stupid MOD.

If I want D2 mods I would play StarCraft.

That is just a subset of suck players though.

I assume you fall into this category

there are also the players who aren’t particularly good at farming, or optimizing characters/builds, but still enjoy the difficulty level. I’m not the best at optimizing everything, I’m not good at the finger coordination required (which is why I do appreciate the new quick casting feature ngl), but I still love the difficulty level of the game, and i find it even more rewarding when I manage to get past difficult areas or bosses.

Welcome to my world lol. He gave up Occy last night but he keeps teasing me with blue and yellow Shakos.

I fall under none of those categories so no there aren’t “3 types of players”.

I play and get my own stuff. Build up runes and trade if I don’t find items I want. And then I farm “THEE spots” but I also don’t rush through them all like on Baal. I am not the type of player who always teleports to his room asap. I clear out the floors for drops be it items or runes. I am not a power rusher who does all the main farm spots in 20 mins. Sure I won’t get 423987342 Baal kills in an hour but I don’t care as doing that would me want to quit so that is why I like to clear floors too.

So fast killers? Not me.
Good farmers? Not sure what you mean here? How can you be a good farmer? Sounds like a 100% matter of opinion what constitutes a good farmer.

Suck Players? Not me either. I played day 1 of D2 and LoD and know how to play and put in many hours back then. Now, I don’t rush farm spots asap and just have fun clearing out floors too. I am not the type of player who needs x amount of Baal kills etc. per hour. I have the gear to solo any farm spot so I prefer to enjoy the game instead making my eyes bleed and carpal tunnel to get worse with the non stop teleporting.

I would consider a good farmer as someone who knows how to efficiently run routes. Knowledgeable about where to key in on certain bosses/areas for particular items…etc. Doesn’t make them special, just gives them more runs/time which should typically translate to more loot.

Everyone can become a good farmer. All the information needed is out there.
