Same issue here. Game is very frequently and seemingly randomly closes itself - as if alt+f4’d.
No error codes, no crash reporters, nothing.
All drivers are updated, all other apps closed, I shutdown security apps and run repair tool.
Win 10
GTX 1080TI
32Gb RAM
RYZEN 5600X
Same for me straight crashing to desktop with no error reporting pop up. Sometimes i can play for 1 hour some times 1 minute.
All temps and everything is fine, tried dynamic scaling, tried changing various settings to eliminate stuff but nothing helped.
Didnt have this in Beta but on release? it wont stop happening.
Hoping for at least an acknowledgement from Blizzard…
yesterday with dynamic resolution, i can play fine, today the game backs to crashes over and over again…
Can anybody confirm that disabling the XMP Profile for the RAM - solves the problem for now?
What is XMP?
And I’m having the exact same issue. Sadly had to request a refund as apparantly they only do it for up to 3 days.
Found out was XMP was and tried that last night, went from crashing every between 30 seconds and 15 minutes to one crash in 5 hours. Gonna sink some hours in today and check further.
I have found a potential fix at least one that worked for me after hours of trying.
right click on your Nvidia settings on the task bar > Nvidia Control Panel > 3D Settings > Manage 3D Settings > Power Management Mode > Prefer Maximum Performance
As for laptops you can also try this…
Go to Power Management > Change settings for High Performance Plan > PCI Express > Link State Power Management and change it to OFF.
Then use that plan hopefully this helps for you im on Desktop but it should fix any issues cause by low power to the card.
mine want load keep crashing on loading screen
10 more repairs later still want load and cant play BLIZZARD i want a refund OR FIX ive reinstalled twice. sad please send me back something
Can you tell us if this fixed the problem for you?
Maybe this is a hint to the problem itself.
I run the game with 32GB / 3600mhz RAM
The method i posted fixed my issue but its for Event ID : 4101 - “display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered” check your Event Viewer in windows to see what error you are getting. It will be under System.
There is also a RegEdit fix which also may help.
Maybe keep an eye on your videocard temperature, in case it might blow up like someone else posted about. I have an idea that the game is going crazy on gpu and that the card has a failsafe to prevent it from overheating that crashes the game?
This is just from seeing posts on the forum and my own gpu spiking to 100% every time I try to start the game which crashes into an unexpected error.
I have been having the same issues that most people here.
When I press Play in the launcher, any moment between 1 second and 2 minutes my game crashes. By crash, I mean it closes without any warnings or report messages. Sometimes I had just click PLAY in the launcher, sometimes I am in the lobby, sometimes I am within the game walking around Tristan. There seems to be no unic/single problem, it is a random thing that is triggering the crash or multiple things causing the same kind of crash.
However, on the very first day I could play with some random crashes here and there.
Then on day 2, I couldn’t even get out of the city. And now, most of the times I can’t even log in-game.
I tried all alternatives mentioned by people in this thread.Except the one that we need to remove the Realtek Audio Drivers, not gonna do that. Nevertheless, none of the others worked so far.
Just for the sake of completion, I have already tried:
Uninstalling and reinstalling the game:
Setting every single possible Executable in ADM mode:
Using highest and lowest configs in everything imaginable, by me.
Windows and all my other drivers are up to date:
Changing the 3D setting of the video board to emphasise in Quality and Performance;
Using the Dynamic Scaling;
Changing the resolution to 640x480 and 800x600;
Playing in windowed mode;
I tried Energy Mode Manager set to Highest Performance too;
My setup is a
Dell Inspiron
Intel i7 4790 @ 3.6Ghz
Ram 16GB
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
I have no troubles playing any other of my games:D3, PoE, WoW, LoL, CSGO, Subnautica.
Okay, got it. XMP didn’t work.
I closed my keyboard software, MSI afterburner and soundblaster software.
Suddenly no more crashes occurred. Hope this helps you guys.
With XMP didnt work, you mean turn off the XMP didnt work or using a XMP Profile didnt work?
I’d suggest opening your own thread with a dxdiag.txt. Maybe some people can take a closer look and help you with further troubleshooting.
I have just done that, if you could take a look.
However to post the DxDiag I need someone to comment on the Topic
Game crashed to desktop with no reason.
Just closes after some minutes, impossible to play.
My PC has the minimum specs required to run the game.
Updated drivers
No your firewall
Restarted PC
Reinstalled the game
Run the game as administrator
Repaired corrupt game files
Checked for memory issues
Updated all drivers
Made ALL this and game still crashes!!!
Every other game runs perfectly, there is a huge problem with Diablo 2 Ressurect.
Same here. Crashing randomly without any messages.
same here. it seems like there’s no potent solution… yet.
What puzzles me most that beta worked flawlessly on the very same PC.
