First I wanna say I don’t play mods that over do crafting reworks, because I think the base crafting is more challenging and fun. But there are a couple things that pigeon hole the player into only doing certain crafts and recipes. I don’t need a craft to spawn with like a billion plus skills or bs mods, but I would like to make it “Possible” to get existing mods from crafting, which right now is impossible or extremely prohibitive.
Crafting and Gambling Tweaks for next season:
-
Allow Eth Item Crafts: Either item stays Eth if crafted item is already Eth or chance to reroll as eth.
Use case: Weapon Crafts -
Enable Eth rerolls
-
Reduce rare reroll iLvl Penalty slightly and reduce from 6 to 4 pskulls for recipe. Can’t reroll 4x2s currently and rerolling recipe only useful for Diadems currently. Slight reduction in iLvl penalty reduces the asymptotic iLvl cap during multiple rerolls
Current Calc: =INT(.4CLvl)+INT(.4iLvl)
95 cLvl and 75 iLvl - iLvl 63 after four rerolls
95 cLvl and 40 iLvl - iLvl 62 after four rerolls -
Changing the .4 to .45 increases the resulting iLvls of the above to 75 (which is about where the good weapon affixes are). Good for the economy to increase value of Skulls, and makes obtaining godlies slightly more realistic when coupled with enabling ethereal.
-
Enable ethereal Gambles at the same rate as would find in drop calcs. (IE: I believe its 5% but not sure)
If these things were done, I could put a pin in anything else I think or feel about the crafting experience in D2R
