tired of crafting the same shnit XD

Crafting is more along the lines of an ability to influence the rolls on a specific base item, rather than just waiting for one to randomly drop. While there are a few select recipes that can yield impressive high character level end-game results, crafting mostly serves as “stepping stone” for item progression.

i 100% disagree.
bis rings and ammy, gloves and boots are all ultra end game items for a lot of classes.

making eth ba blood axes could yield gg weps for both pvm and pvp

Which is why I said:

It was definitely a missed opportunity at least originally by blizzard north for not allowing eth crafting…

The problem with Stepping Stone is with people just getting rushed/running - there is no point to crafting for a “stepping stone”. People just go from nothing to their end game gear.

Well maybe these people need to unlearn the easy quick rushme4forge way and actually play the game the way it was intended to be played.

Lets be honest here, if we are talking online multiplayer you might have what? 5% of the people that play like that?

Gaming the game happens with every game - and this one happens to be over 20 years old. It’s been gamed to death and back.

Well then, perhaps it’s time for them to move onto something else. These are probably the same group of players whining about no new content, blah blah blah.

If you read the OP you can see they are just addressing a well known problem with this game for those 20 years. They destroyed pretty much everything but a handful of Uniques (virtually all of them in non-Runeword slots) and a few Casting items. Everything else is dominated by Runewords.

Yeah, but fixing that problem is not by making weaker items more powerful… that’s contributing to power creep…. The OP rune words need to be toned down.

True, but they are doing the opposite anyway - making more OP Runewords.
The worst thing any of us can do is expect them to fix the root of the problem that has existed for two plus decades.

It just goes to show you how out of touch the Blizzard of new is with this game.

David Brevik and co. took their little green notebooks with them on how to make a great ARPG, and ever since then Blizzard has been having trouble.

The Blizzard of new was probably just told to leave everything as is, make a few QoL changes and add a few things to it. Then again, a lot of these big studios are doing just that with their IP releases - even new content.

Not even sure how many of the people working on D2R even played the game they were remastering TBH.

Leaving the game alone is probably the safest bet. It is more or less a remaster after all… Outside of maintenance mode, they don’t want to pay anyone anything to likely screw the game up further.

Yep.
Even before D2R it was the modding scene that helped keep D2 alive.
Then again it’s been that way with Bethesda titles since forever.

in 1.10, blizzard increased the difficulty of all monsters in the game.
why cant they do that again? increase the difficulty; balance rws; buff uniques; allow tele on something OTHER THAN ENIGMA (it has become a staple in EVERY FKN BUILD – open more versatility); let us craft eth items.
im sure there are other things, but this is the way. back when 1.10 released, it upended d2 lod. do it again. add end game content. make the game challenging again. for being 20+ years old, this game is still relevant… dont let it die! keep the veterans here and seeking more!

I would love to be able to craft eth items. Both melee weapons and throwing weapons. Nothing wrong with having a potential BIS item be something other than a runeword! Would also make things one of a kind. Can you imagine rolling an eth self repair deadly strike helmet? GG

I would add that you should be able to recraft something already crafted. So if you have a good base, you can roll again if you have the resources.
