Crafting broken?

i just rolled multiple ilvl 74+ blood rings with only 3 extra affixes. i still have them for proof. char level 77 w/ gambled rings

Gambled items ilvl is -5 to +4 character level.

77 - 5 = 72

Some affixes can also roll into the same auto mod with a low roll. Like 1 str or 1% lifeleech, along with a low automod roll.

yes, using gambled ring 72/2=36, char lvl rounded down 76/2=38. 38+36= new ilvl 74 since rings are qlvl 1 like amulets. ilvl 71+ is guaranteed 4 affixes. also min %LL affix is 2%

the blood ring i just rolled: req lvl 25: 1 max dam/39 AR/2%LL/2STR/19Life/5 stamina

i guess its possible i got a 1 str/life roll there, heres ring #2.

Ring 2: 1%LL/7STR/11Life/8%PRes/34%GF

i have to be losing my mind if that rolled +1 life, i have a 3rd ring too that either rolled 1 life or 1 STR. never seen this in my life.

Ring 3: 110 AR/1%LL/3STR/15Life/20%LRes/21%FRes

Ring 4: 1-12 light dam/2%LL/4STR/43Life/22LRes

Ring 5: 4 min dam/13AR/3%LL/4STR/16Life/ lvl 3 ice blast charges

5x 1life/strength rolls on 5 out of 20 ilvl 74+ rings? you can even see that most of the other affixes that spawned are low level affixes and all of these rings were under level 50 requirement with one as low as 25 which is unusual

edit: there is a definite bug, i made a new game after getting gold on my barb and now all the rings roll normally.
Game 1: 5 out of 20 rings bugged.
Game 2: 0 out of 15 rings bugged.

i know, sample size, but NO ONE rolls 1 life/STR on 5 out of 20 ilvl 74+ rings (except me). I’m suspecting that TZ or difficulty setting influenced the crafts (or vendors) when it obviously shouldn’t have. I’m usually in NM on this character to buy gloves but made sure i was in hell for the 2nd game for the ring resale value, although i may have been in hell for game one as well. i just cant think of another reason why this bug would happen.

imagine rolling these back to back and thinking nothing was wrong

Pretty sure rings only roll max 6 stats so …

ring 1 = 1 max dam/39 AR/2%LL/2STR/19Life/5 stamina = 6 stats no bug there

ring 2 = 1%LL/7STR/11Life/8%PRes/34%GF = 5 stats so most likely you got 2 str rolls here no bug

ring 3 = 110 AR/1%LL/3STR/15Life/20%LRes/21%FRes = 6 stats no bug here

ring 4 = 1-12 light dam/2%LL/4STR/43Life/22LRes = 5 stats so most likely got 2 life rolls no bug

ring 5 = 4 min dam/13AR/3%LL/4STR/16Life/ lvl 3 ice blast charges = 6 stats no bug here

I really don’t see anything suspicious at all, just bad rng.

crafted rings have 7 stats, 3 fixed and 4 affix rolls at ilvl 71+

ring 2: yes strength is one of the rolls i counted, its a fixed stat on blood rings at 1-5 STR. only possible “extra rolls” here is +1 life since its fixed at 10-20

ring 4: life was a counted roll here obviously, only possible “extra roll” is 1 STR

Ok so rare rings have 6 and crafted get 7, sounds like you got it all figured out then, bad rng as i said. If you look at the possible magic prefix and suffix you can see that none of these rolls are suspicious. Sometimes you get double bad rolls, ring 1 could easily have rolled bronze mod twice 10-20 attack rating. it could have rolled 1ll and got another 1ll prefix. same with strength. It’s also possible that you got a 10life roll followed by a 9 life roll. You aren’t guarenteed 7 seperate stats.

i know im not guaranteed 7 stats, my issue is that i only got 3 affix rolls. It seems much more likely that there is a bug than that i was able to consistently roll absolute minimum life/str on high level rings (if they were rolls at all). There are also affix groups that keep you from rolling in the same group twice

Could some off-level rings have been mixed in with your gambled rings? (ie if you picked them up from enemies while going to get a leg for cows, or possibly from late nightmare farming for something - they would be low enough level to generate tier3 results of 80% 3 mod, 20% 4 mod)

They do look like 3-mod rings, feasibly 4 mod w/ bad luck (and I have had those low str/low life rings before - but I’ve literally crafted thousands over the years). Short of breaking out the item files, you’re not going to know for sure what you rolled though :frowning:

thanks for the feedback, i’m curious to see how many people are running into this. I use strictly gambled rings for crafting, this character never leaves town and is forever lvl 77. I reported it on the bug forum and noticed another post there about someone rolling 5 extra affixes lol, also blood rings

I think there is a possibility of a bug, but not a certainty.

Posting it on the bug forum is a good move, that way if others are seeing the same thing, we can get a larger sample size and possibly figure out if there is a bug or not.
