hey, do you think it might be possible to adapt mouse behavior to be like the (very nice) controler movement?
I mean to “slowly” walk if the mouse is nearby the character and increase movement speed the more far away the pointer is? You click anyway to start move, click on enemys to shoot or press shift to stay to fire…
just an idea, I usually prefer mouse/keyboard in all games, except those that allow me to fluent control character movement with the thumb stick. (Its just for me a lot more fun / excitement to “walk” the games and enjoy the hard work of you game creating people)
thank you to allow me to enjoy diablo 2 this very intensive way!
I think most of D2’s issues would be fixed if they just simply gave us WASD movement.
Move character with WASD, aim with mouse, like 99% of every other game ever made for PC. Works pretty good for other isometric/top-down games like HADES, Bastion, etc.

Lol. Nobodys play arpg´s like that. Less then 1% of gamers would do that.
Really?
Games like Hades and Bastion are set up that way by default. How else would you play one of those games, click-to-move?
I highly doubt anybody plays Hades with C2M.
It is no decision of one or the other way. I guess the more options you give to decide how to play, the more people can play “their” way. (I guess the “minority” you talk of, is not so small as you think, if the option would be available, you might see more people trying alternative ways of gameplay) This is a trend I observed the last years, take World of Warcraft for example: There is so much visual content in the world, in raids & instances, but nobody does care, they just push forward to get the loot, no time to enjoy the scenery.)
And before you post: Think about “live and let live” guess you don´t loose anything if the games you play have options you don´t use.
I guess controller support is one start to try to give more intuitive control to the players, so I just want to encourage the developers to experiment with the controls.
I really like to “tell myself a story”…
Not sure what you were trying to show in that video, but ya.
I don’t get why people are against options.
If people don’t wanna WASD and aim with mouse then… don’t.
I’d be tempted to try controller, but I know the auto-target would probably be crap, about the first time I came across an imp camp and the thing would refuse to target the shaman, would be about the time I’d quit in frustration.
I want the smooth movement of a controller, with the aiming of a mouse but I don’t want to have to hold a controller in one hand and put the other hand on the mouse, that’d be ridiculous, lol.
That’s why I’m suggesting to let us do WASD like Hades and Bastion. That would solve the problem nice and neatly.
If people out there love click to move so dang much, they can keep doing that, whatever floats their boats.
