Construct Golem Rework

Hello,

Now that Warlock has Bind Demon, I believe we can condense All current Golems into one skill; Construct Golem

Construct Golem is a level 30 skill that has all the effects of all the current Golems

Golem Mastery is also buffed to include +Flat Damage modifier as well as Extra Strong, Extra Fast, Spectral Hit, Aura Enchanted added to the Golem at skill levels 5, 10, 15, and 20

To replace skills in the previous Golem tree, now that they have all been removed and combined, add a Command Army skill which Teleports your minions to the target with increased damage

Thank you

Thank you

i like to be able to differentiate between clay golem and iron golem for example.
if you want buff Nec, make the Revives live longer, survive a game switches.

Golems need rework but we don’t need to copy-past bind demon. Clay is fine, Blood Golem should have a damage sharing modifier that scales with hard points (have it soak 5% of the damage the Necro take at level 1, up to 25% at 20 hard poinds). Iron Golem just need to function as an extra item slot allowing you to recraft the golem from the same item if it dies, but shouldn’t be a 1 point wonder and require 20 hard points to be used on Uniques/Runewords (i’d rework Bind Demon to function the same way, low level Bind Demon would only keep certain affixes with new ones every X hard points until 20 hard points for Auras and Curses). For Fire Golem, either i’d make it do more damage and basically give him a major explosion that does a lot of damage if it dies or you unsummon him or i’d replace him entirely for a Bone Golem that scales up thorns/Iron Maiden damage.

Wouldn’t it be easier if the game just allowed you to have more than one golem? Rather changing the game so drastically? Though I suppose you’re advocating Blizzard copy and paste the bind demon code into this Construct Golem skill.

Wouldn’t help the current golems at all, they’re just fundamentally useless (outside Clay).

Now you wouldn’t have to

You get Clay and Blood and Iron and Fire all in one

It isn’t copy paste bind demon, it is taking bind demon and making it the standard power level

Construct Golem and Synergies would be unique

No, because Bind Demon exists now

Yes it would

Unless you think Bind Demon is also fundamentally useless…

i want decide what the golem is made of. for example the well known insight iron golem.

fire golem is quite useful on a psn necro.

The holy fire aura is #1 monster aggro - forces all monsters to attack the fire golem. Its the meta golem on psn nova builds

I mean fair but i doubt that was its intended use.

Personally I would prefer blizzard nerf Warlock down to legacy power levels. Bind demon doesn’t work on unique/champion monster (eg revive and conversion), make ES use IAS and durability, etc

That said, is there room for a conversation about buffing or reworking legacy character skills? Sure.

I mean, LoD wasn’t balanced. Remove Warlock and Hdin/Sorc/Javazon still exist.

As i said multiple time i don’t want Blizzard to buff anything past their power level, but certain classes having a dozen+ worthless skills or entire playstyles unviable doesn’t make the game better.

Like i played a couple PD2 seasons and Rabies Druid being viable for example was really fun. Now do i think they went too far with certain things (like turning the Necro Curse tree into UA Warlocks from WoW), yes, but its a mod so might as well have fun with it. This is why i rarely suggest fundamental mechanical changes to the game or to an ability and when i do i just want Blizz to add existing mechanics to a dead skill.

Yes agreed there is room for discussion about reworking legacy character skills.

However, Warlock is not even in the same realm as the legacy S-tier characters. He can beat all hell content naked with only an insight. Sheet damage like 100k +

He trivializes every aspect of the game.

From what i understand its largely due to Echoing Strike being bugged to hell and back. The other builds seem sane. Not that i disagree that Bind Demon is OP as heck, its an enabler, if the rest of the class is balanced around it it could work.

Personally im not agains’t the idea of Warlocks having a really powerful demon bound IF it involves more than 1 point wonder investments. If to get the current quality of demon you needed 20 hard points into bind demon, it would be a lot more logical already.

I also think Warlocks shouldn’t be allowed to wear shields, as a tradeoff for the whole “2handers in 1 hand”, them not having access to Spirit and Phoenix would be a decent nerf, and probably nuke the armor rating from their books. They’re casters, they shouldn’t facetank.
