Common "i am vet" meme in D2R

I have seen it many times here on forum. Folks playing the game 20 years complaying about drop and other stuff. Sorry to step on your toes, but playing game for ages doesnt mean you are also good at it or have actual good knowledhe about game. It doesnt mean there is nothing to learn anymore.

Yes you can be actualy playing game in not very effective way even when you play it for years. Spend time ==//== knowledge if you are actualy not trying to learn stuff.

Just wanted to say this as some people here should eat their pride, listen learn and ask queastion. There are things to learn still for everyone.

Just reacting with this topic after reading few topics with people who played countless hours 20+ years and cry about not finding anything and asking for increased drops and stuff like that

And when others are giving them advices, their pride dont let them take the advice snd they are toxic and salty instead.

Well, feel free to “give advice” and “teach people” rather than just insult them. So far I have not seen any advice about “getting better drops” other than just “act more like a robot” and insults…

It is not always “pride” that is keeping people from taking your claims seriously…

I like to help to others and give adbice, i have done so many times on forums. Even wrote few guides.

Problem is that people often do not ask for advice and will find any excuse possible if you try to help them. They dont wamt to learn in many cases , they are stubborn, dense and even toxic and prefer jusz complain. I help those who are interested

Back in the day, one of the things I remember always telling my friends was even after playing for so long, there are still so many things to try and learn. This is still true today! I miss when more people would try the non-meta build/theory crafting and were happy with finding failures and success.

Anyways, I agree!

insert more complaining about drop rates
Yknow, cause I want the game to be fun and not like a session of the mistress from Wolf of Wall Street.

“inb4 20 diablo vet here, drop rates suck.”

Sure thing kid, did you help Santa pack his sleigh too?

Generally, “I’ve been playing for 20 years” means
“I played a bit when I was younger and LoD came out then quit, but it was fun and now I’m back”. Or they mean that, but came back for a few months some time in-between then and now too.

I havent noticed any of that, Ive noticed OG players saying the drop rates are fine.I rarely see any old players say anything about changes

I’ll even add, most my original d2 career was prior to 1.13c or whichever patch increased the rune drop rates. So I’m kind of still in awe at how many high runes I am consistently finding.

I’ll also add, I’ve played lots of ARPGs and I really prefer the chase this game has always brought. It makes me want to play more. I don’t need the Death’s fathom for my blizz sorc to work, it’s just going to be epic when I find it, for example. I burn out on games that mess too much with intricate crafting systems everywhere and easy to find end game loot.

Haha exactly same dude

I’ve been playing for 20 years, my game philosophy? Always play like like a newb…
But I’m reasonably sure I’ve memorized most of the Arreat Summit!

I don’t find stuff terribly often, but I try and trade as much as possible, sometimes I get tired of the drop rates then I take a game break. A couple weeks later I’m back at it.
When D4 or Starfield come out, I probably will disappear. No rage quits for me.

I am also a veterinarian. Nah just kidding i’m a welder.

yeah, lack of “data/numbers” is what prevents me
when it comes to diablo, telling people “do this” is not enough, “do this and expect this result in x time with variations” is the complete and right answer
